Astedt's Kicker Earns Him the Pot

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Erik Lindqwist raised to 500 from the hijack and was instantly three-bet to 2,000 by his countrymate Niklas Astedt in the cutoff. Lindqwist called.

Lindqwist check-called a bet of 800 from Astedt on the 2105 flop, then did the same for 4,000 on the A turn.

The J river saw Lindqwist check for a third time. Astedt gave it some thought before checking behind.

Lindqwist tabled AQ for top pair, but Astedt had him outkicked with AK to take the pot.

Suutari Takes Huberman's Final Chip

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On a completed board of 10K928, Ibrahim Ghassan added 7,500 to the pot of 9,200 from the big blind.

Alon Huberman quickly called under the gun, but his JJ was no good against the Q4 of Ghassan, who had flopped a flush, leaving Huberman with just 500.

The next hand, Guillermo Sanz raised to 500 under the gun. Francesco Di Profio called in middle position, seeing Juho Suutari three-bet to 2,200 in the hijack. Huberman quickly called off his final chips in the big blind, and Sanz and Di Profio came along as well.

After Sanz checked the 579 flop, Di Profio led out with a bet of 2,700. Suutari called before Sanz folded. Di Profio sized up to 3,200 on the 6 turn, again seeing his opponent call.

The Q river was then checked to showdown. Di Profio tabled 109 for a pair of nines. Suutari had been ahead the whole way with QQ, and his rivered set won him the pot when Huberman showed 33 to confirm his exit.

Timmer Picks Up a Multi-Way Pot

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Four-way to the J8Q flop in a single-raised pot, Paul Tait checked from the big blind and Stephen McCann bet 600 from early position. Javey Timmer called from the next seat, while Anton Wigg wanted to play for more and raised to 2,500 in the cutoff. Tait folded, but McCann and Timmer both called.

All three checked the 6 turn to see the Q land on the river. McCann checked, Timmer bet 3,200, and that was enough to take down the pot.

Top Set For Kashani

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Arian Kashani
Arian Kashani

With about 9,000 going into the pot preflop, Arian Kashani checked from the big blind on the A42 flop, with Eldiyar Janiev in middle position and David Belaich in the cutoff checking behind.

Kashani fired a delayed continuation-bet of 3,700 on the 9 turn, and only Janiev stuck around with a call.

The Q river didn't slow Kashani down as he threw out 11,000. Janiev deliberated briefly before making the call for over half his remaining stack.

Kashani had the goods with AA for top set, taking down the pot and leaving Janiev with under a third of the starting stack.

The trio then all checked the 6 turn. The 8 river again checked to Cvetkovic, who re-engaged with a bet of 4,200. Two quick folds followed, and the chips were added to Cvetkovic's stack.

Gotuzzo Misses His Draw to Bust

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
Hugo Gotuzzo
Hugo Gotuzzo

Four-way to the monotone QJ6 flop, Lev Margolin and Eldiyar Janiev checked from the blinds, allowing John Driver to bet 1,000 from the hijack. Hugo Gotuzzo called on the button before Margolin check-raised to 4,500. Janiev and Driver got out of the way, but Gotuzzo responded by jamming for about 20,000. Margolin called.

Hugo Gotuzzo: A9 All in
Lev Margolin: 54

Despite having the best hand with a flopped flush and the covering stack, Margolin was the one out of his seat as he waited to see if he could dodge another spade.

The 8 turn and 4 river were no help to Gotuzzo, sending him to the rail in the first level of the Main Event.

Bansal Bets Big

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Paawan Bansal raised to 300 in the hijack and called when Dirk Sellhorn three-bet to 900 on the button. Both players checked the 783 flop, prompting Bansal to bet 1,100 on the 4 turn.

Sellhorn called to the 7 river, where Bansal piled in a massive 6,500. Sellhorn had seen enough, quickly mucking his cards to admit defeat.
