Four-way to the monotone Q♠J♠6♠ flop, Lev Margolin and Eldiyar Janiev checked from the blinds, allowing John Driver to bet 1,000 from the hijack. Hugo Gotuzzo called on the button before Margolin check-raised to 4,500. Janiev and Driver got out of the way, but Gotuzzo responded by jamming for about 20,000. Margolin called.

Despite having the best hand with a flopped flush and the covering stack, Margolin was the one out of his seat as he waited to see if he could dodge another spade.

The 8♣ turn and 4♦ river were no help to Gotuzzo, sending him to the rail in the first level of the Main Event.

Paawan Bansal raised to 300 in the hijack and called when Dirk Sellhorn three-bet to 900 on the button. Both players checked the 7♥8♣3♦ flop, prompting Bansal to bet 1,100 on the 4♣ turn.

Sellhorn called to the 7♦ river, where Bansal piled in a massive 6,500. Sellhorn had seen enough, quickly mucking his cards to admit defeat.

Maria Konnikova raised to 300 in the cutoff. Big blind Miguel Gurrea bumped it up to 1,100, and Konnikova called. Gurrea then continued for 900 on the 10♦6♦6♠ flop, which Konnikova raised to 2,700. Gurrea called, after which the duo checked through the Q♦ turn and J♥ river.

Gurrea revealed Q♥Q♣ for a turned full house at showdown. Konnikova could not help but smile as she relinquished her cards to concede the pot.

With about 9,500 in the pot on a completed board of A♠9♣Q♣3♣K♥, Miguel Gurrea Monton was first to act from early position and settled on a bet of 3,100.

Tom Khalifa, on the button, deliberated for a few moments before flicking in a chip to call. Monton tabled a flopped set with 9♠9♦, earning him the pot as Khalifa mucked.

Manikaros Tables Nuts

A sizable pot of 4,800 had been brewed when small blind Valerio Parodo and Iraklis Manikaros in the hijack arrived on the 8♠2♥9♥J♥ turn. Manikaros fired 3,000, which Parodo check-called.

Parodo checked again on the 3♦ river. Manikaros overbet the pot by sliding in 11,900, and Parodo snapped his opponent off.

Manikaros showed A♥7♥ for the nut flush. Parodo paid his opponent, then returned his cards to the muck.
