Stoica Crosses Seven Figures

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Roman Stoica
Roman Stoica

Jose Malpelli raised to 30,000 in the cutoff, and Roman Stoica called in the small blind. The 8A8 flop saw Malpelli continue for another 30,000. Stoica check-called, after which both players knuckled the table on the 6 turn.

Stoica then tossed in 35,000 on the Q river. Malpelli wanted to raise to 165,000, but slid in a stack of chips worth 100,000 first. Despite his protest, the raise was ruled as 100,000, which Stoica quickly called.

Malpelli showed down K9 for a bluff, leaving Stoica to take the pot with A4 for aces and eights.
