Lybaert Leaves in Two Stages
Level 6
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
A pot of 20,000 had been created by Benedetto Sutera in the big blind and Bart Lybaert in middle position when they went to the 3♠4♣4♥5♣K♣ river. Sutera checked to Lybaert, who made a pot-sized bet for the majority of his stack.
Sutera pondered for a bit before he tossed in calling chips. Lybaert could only show ace-high with A♥Q♥, meaning Sutera's 9♠9♥ was enough to win the big pot.
Lybaert left himself 3,300, which he moved all in from under the gun the next hand. Patrick El Kallas was the only interested party, calling in the hijack.
Bart Lybaert: J♥4♥
Patrick El Kallas: K♠Q♠
El Kallas flopped top pair on 2♠Q♥8♣ for a big lead. The 9♠ turn gave Lybaert some outs, but the 6♦ river was not one of them.
