Welcome from Warsaw!

Welcome to everyone from Warsaw in sunny Poland!

While the weather is good outside, we are holed up in the press room inside the Hyatt Regency, three floors above the casino. Keeping fit running up and down stairs could be the order of the day here.

First thing to confront us was the hotel internet system - it wasn’t working too well! Cue the technical guys……zzzzz

We had a look at the casino reception area a couple of hours before the cards hit the air, Ireland’s Andrew Black rolled up at this moment, telling us that he woke up at 4am deciding on the spur of that moment to play, so he was sorting out a bank transfer to secure his seat.

As a great believer in fate, I threw my 20 Zlotys into the ring for the press room’s Last Longest bet – Andrew Black. For the record, Paul went in-house with Noah Boeken.

Colclough treading water, Black on the up

Dave Colclough is looking a little fed up in the early stages. His stack is going nowhere right now, though.

Andrew Black is in high spirits. The Irishman pointed out that the official logo contained a Queen card image that looks like Julie Andrews!

Roland de Wolfe is also in action. To his left the early chip leader is dominating the opening exchanges.

Round 2 is about to start. We will have the chip counts coming soon.
