Day 1B gets underway very soon with a larger list of established poker names than we saw yesterday. That is certainly not intended to demean those playing yesterday as there is undoubtedly a swathe of future poker stars on the rise from Day 1A - many from Scandinavia.

Amongst the leading European players today are:

Marcel Luske (Holland), Luca Pugano (Italy), Pascal Perrault, Paul Testud and Bertrand Grospellier (all France), Juha Helppi and Jani Sointula (both Finland). Ben "Milkybarkid" Grundy, Barny Boatman, Ross Boatman, Joe Beevers, Ash Hussein, Robin Keston, Kevin O'Connell, Nick Slade (all UK), and Roy Brindley and Peter Roche (Ireland).

The action is fast and furious in the opening exchanges.

As noted already, Barny Boatman lost a good chunk of his chips to Juha Helppi. This is a tough table with Helppi's compatriot Jani Sointula facing the pair of them at the felt. We'll try and keep an eye on this match up as the day progresses.
