After a gallant battle with 50k or less for most of the day, Sweden's Ramzi Jelassi finally fell in 19th spot, pushing his now small stack with . He was called by Dennis Bejedal's KQ and was dominated. The board did not help.
Mikael Westerlund of Sweden was getting low on chips but saw a flop with Benjamin Kang of Germany (who had incidentally just damaged Westerlund with AA vs AQ). The flop came 777.
Kang bet and Westerlund raised all-in. Kang called and Westerlund showed KJ. Kang happily turned over QQ. A jack on the turn didn't help Westerlund but the river was the case 7 for quads on the board. Westerlund's king plays!!
I'm the bearded one behind the chipstack
Of the first six casualties in the cash places, three have been by the same player, Marius Skoglund Torbergsen of Norway, who now sports a sizeable looking chipstack.
That's him in the picture, the bearded guy at the end....
ElkY decides brute force is the way forward
Bertrand Grospellier, or "ElkY", the big-stakes Pokerstars.com player, found himself down to around 50k which is not a lot when the blinds are 3k/6k with running antes of 400. So, he did the sensible thing and pushed all-in. With big stack Peter Willers Jepsen on his left, he has to hope he isn't facing decent cards. Jespen showed 2 5 offsuit and folded.
Next hand, ElkY is all in again. Same result. Quick collection of antes. Can it last?
