Dias In Distress

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Bernardo Da Silveira Dias looked pretty with how the hand was going until on the river Mauro Mancin shoved on him for 158,000. There followed near five minutes of agonising from Dias, the emotions writ all over his face as he went through seemingly every possible combination of hands his opponent could have. He emitted a, ”Wow.” muttering under his breath alternately trying to convince himself that he had the best hand or that he had somehow run into a better one.

It was a pot sized river shove from Mancin and Dias had 290,000 behind. Eventually he decided he didn’t want to commit the chips and said, “Fold.” with a sigh.

Not content with the pot Mancin showed the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Dias put his head in his hands distraught. Seeing the distress he was in another player asked him, “Did you have a king?” Dias did not respond.

Danchev Dismissed

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

Former PCA Champion Dimitar Danchev is out, he was all in with {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} against Andrey Shatilov's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}. The {5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop was good for the Bulgarian but the {J-Hearts} turn gave Shatilov a flush draw and a straight draw. The Russian hit Broadway on the {10-Clubs} river, Danchev immediately shook hands with his assassin and quickly left the table.

Aasmaa All In

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

All of Raigo Aasmaa’s chips were in the middle before the flop had been dealt. He was in possession of {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and he had been challenged to a race by Pedro Marques who was armed with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

The race got underway and Marques got off to a flying start on a flop of {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Nothing would stop him as the turn {3-Hearts} and river {5-Hearts} saw Aasmaa fall by the wayside.

Seiver's Knavish Behaviour Costs Him

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Lenny Kravitz once sang, "It Ain't Over Til It's Over" and Scott Seiver just found out exactly that. He was all in with {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} against Marko Neumann's {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

The flop came {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Seiver jokingly turned Neumann's cards face down. The {10-Clubs} turn didn't change anything but the {6-Diamonds} river was greeted with some laughter, from Seiver and Neumann as much as anyone else.

Seiver was eliminated and Neumann moved back over 500,000.

Lamarca Left Behind

Jose Lamarca Capa
Jose Lamarca Capa

Piotr Sowinski is staking his claim for the chip lead after he called Day 1B chip leader Jose Lamarca's all in on the turn of a {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board. Lamarca showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} needing to hit because Sowinski flipped {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

The Spaniard couldn't find one of his ten outs on the {K-Hearts} river and Sowinski picked up a huge pot to put him close to chip lead.

Souki Almost Trebles at the Death

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A three-way all-in in the penultimate hand saw a big pot shipped the way of Philippe Souki.

Souki: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Orjan Skommo: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Alexander Kell: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Souki scooped, eliminating Skommo and doubling up through Kell at the same time.
