Is Soshnikov A Nit?

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Anatoly Filatov opened the action for 1,800 and got a call from fellow Russian Ivan Soshnikov. Kristoffer Edberg was on the button and saw an opportunity for a squeeze play, making it 5,500. Filatov chucked his hand in and Soshnikov eyed up Edberg before declaring, “All in.”

Edberg folded and Filatov said to him pointing at Soshnikov, “He’s such a nit.” half-jokingly.

William Kassouf had Max Silver in a tizzy earlier.
William Kassouf had Max Silver in a tizzy earlier.

Some players like to talk at the table and some never shut up. It’s fair to say William Kassouf is in the latter group. He had opened the action from under the gun and was involved in a pot with Patrick Leonard. Kassouf had check called the flop of {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and had now seen the {9-Clubs} come on the turn. Kassouf checked and the talking went up a notch.

“I’ve got five-seven of clubs. Turned the straight, I had a re-draw to the flush.” Kassouf insisted over and over again. Whatever the intended effect was Leonard checked and Kassouf continued, “Oh he’s slowed down now.”

The river was the {a-Diamonds} and Kassouf continued to state he had that hand and said, “I’d better value bet.” and put out a bet of 10,100.

Leonard didn’t instantly fold so Kassouf asked him if he had an ace and if so which one. “I’ve got the jack of hearts and the ace of diamonds.” Leonard replied. “The ace of diamonds is on the board. Bluff better.” Kassouf teased. Leonard folded and flashed the {a-Spades}.

“Say ‘Please Will’ and I’ll show you the five-seven of clubs.” Leonard didn’t want to at first but he relented and said the words.

Kassouf turned over his {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

Teltscher: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Behbehani: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board came {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, changing nothing and Behbehani headed across to the payouts desk to buy in again.

With around 15,000 already in the middle on a {2-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board, Team PokerStars Pro Online Mickey Petersen checked to Chris Brammer and the latter made a bet of 15,000. Petersen then check-raised all in for 30,200 in total which left Brammer looking annoyed. The Englishman tanked for several minutes but ended up mucking his hand.
