Is Soshnikov A Nit?

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Anatoly Filatov opened the action for 1,800 and got a call from fellow Russian Ivan Soshnikov. Kristoffer Edberg was on the button and saw an opportunity for a squeeze play, making it 5,500. Filatov chucked his hand in and Soshnikov eyed up Edberg before declaring, “All in.”

Edberg folded and Filatov said to him pointing at Soshnikov, “He’s such a nit.” half-jokingly.

Jacobson's Double Barrel Fails

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With the board reading {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Martin Jacobson checked, Yann Dion fired a bet of 4,100 and was called by Ole Schemion and Nicholas Galtos. Jacobson then check-raised to 11,200, Dion and Schemion quickly folded but Galtos called to see the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn.

Jacobson led out for 16,700 and Galtos thought for a minute before setting the Swedish November Niner all in. Jacobson folded instantly and Galtos took down a substantial pot.

Moorman Five-Bet Jam

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With an open and a three-bet by the time it got to Martin Finger on the button the action only got bigger as Finger counted out the four-bet to 8,900.

There was a decent amount of money in the pot already and Chris Moorman in the big blind went for it, cold five-bet shoving for around 30,000. One by one they surrendered their hands with Igor Kurganov teasing Finger that he had folded kings. Finger remained tight lipped this time.

Chouity's Tricky Traps

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

On a {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Nicolas Chouity checked and Philipp Gruissem declared, "No bet, so no ace-king, no ace-queen..."

"A ten is in my range," smiled Chouity.

Gruissem bet 5,000 and Chouity made the call.

Both players then checked the {A-Hearts} turn and then the {3-Spades} river. After Gruissem checked behind on the end, Chouity swore as the German had escaped the former's trap. Chouity flipped {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and said, "I guess the ace was a bad card for me..."
