Dimov Over Cabrera

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We arrived in time to see Ognyan Dimov and David Cabrera looking down at a board of {10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. With a sizable amount already in the middle, Dimov checked his action over to Cabrera. Cabrera reached for chips and cut out a bet of 50,000, sending Dimov into the tank.

After about 90 seconds, Dimov dropped a call past the betting line. This action prompted the dealer to complete the board with the {J-Diamonds}. Dimov checked again and Cabrera knuckled the table in reply.

Dimov rolled over {K-Spades}{6-Spades} for top pair of kings. Cabrera mucked his cards and Dimov was awarded a pot that brought his stack to about 330,000.

Splashing the Pot

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

With the boad reading {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}, Jareth East had moved all in on the river putting shorter stack Jakub Mroczek to the test. The Polish player had the chips in the pot spread so he could get a better count before tanking for some time.

Finally he made the call but threw several chips into the pot at the same time, causing some confusion. No-one was entirely sure how many chips Mroczek had thrown into the middle at this point and the floor had to be called. Meanwhile Mroczek turned over his winning hand of {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} but the problem was now how much his stack was.

"I think it was three blue chips (5k) and one red chip (1k)," said Zachary Korik. The opinion of the players was that there had been three to five chips put into the middle with several blue involved.

The floorman and the dealer counted back the blinds, antes, initial raise preflop of 6,900 and a called check-raise of 14,000 on the turn before East's river shove. This left a total of 16,500 chips that hadn't been part of the pot, three blues, one red and one purple (500). The chips were added back to Mroczek's stack as the dealer counted down the total that East had to pay, 66,500. East was also forced to table his bluff hand of {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Marco Caza was involved in a big pot against Anatoly Filatov where they had reached the river of a board showing {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. There looked to be arond 100,000 in the middle when we joined the action with Filatov contemplating his move.

Filatov elected to check and it was Caza’s turn to have a think before sliding out a bet of 75,000. Filatov gave it up without much of a fuss and saw a chunk of his weaponry surrendered in the first level of the day.

Lodden Flops Flush to Eliminate Malaurie

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Johnny Lodden made it 6,000 to go from under the gun and it folded around to a short-stacked Christophe Malaurie in the small blind. He moved all in for what looked to be around 25,000 and action folded back to Lodden who called.

Lodden: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Malaurie: {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The dealer fanned a flop that read {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, giving Lodden a flush and the lead in the hand. Malaurie immediately stood up from the table, looking only for running cards to stay alive. The {Q-Spades} on the turn sealed his fate and he was officially sent packing after the {7-Clubs} completed the board. Lodden won the pot and now has about 395,000 to his name.

Liviu Lives!

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Ignat Liviu, better known under his online handle 0Human0, just found himself a very nice double up, but not without thinking he was out for just a few seconds after the flop rolled out.

Liviu was all in for 42,900 chips against Christopher Wood and the showdown went as following.

Liviu: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Wood: {A-}{K-}

The flop brought {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and it seemed like Liviu was headed for the exit. On the turn the {J-Clubs} hit and that turned everything around. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and the Romanian pro raked kept himself in the game a bit longer with the money bubble looming.

Yacoub Reps the River

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Simon Taberham opened the action for 7,000 and faced a three-bet to 15,700 from Dori Yacoub. The blinds got out of the way Taberham checked the amount before putting out the call.

The flop was {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades} which saw both players check but on the turn card {6-Hearts} Taberham led out for 16,000. Yacoub made the call and the river {a-Spades} completed the board. Taberham continued for 20,0000 but the faced a raise to 48,000 from Yacoub. Taberham looked a bit reluctant but he made the call.

Yacoub turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and wasn’t surprised he was beat but he was surprised to see the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} flopped set of his opponent. “What flop. Nice hand, I thought you didn’t have an ace.” Yacoub explained, justifying his river raise. A brave move which has severely hurt his stack and Yacoub sighed, visibly deflated at the result.

Uharcek: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Watts: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Watts got up from his seat and sweated the board as it rolled out {2-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}.
