Simunic Takes One Down

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante
Josip Simunic
Josip Simunic

EPT Deauville High Roller champion Josip Simunic just raised to 600 and the player on his direct left called from the button. Francois Billard three-bet from the big blind to 3,200 and Simunic called rather quickly after which the button folded.

The flop brought out {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Simunic called a bet of 3,800. On the turn the {Q-Spades} hit and both players checked after which the river was the {2-Clubs}. The action was checked again and Billard showed his {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}, which was no good against Simunic's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

EPT Berlin champion Daniel-Gai Pidun opened for 500 under the gun and Ole Schemion on the big blind made the call.

Schemion checked to Pidun on {9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and Pidun checked behind. Schemion now bet 850 on the {7-Hearts} turn and Pidun called.

The {9-Hearts} on the river made Schemion bet 1,500. Pidun quickly folded. Pidun is still up for the day, he sits at about 60,000 while Schemion has a little over starting stack after this hand.

"You Want to Make Me Nervous?"

Level 1 : 100/200, 25 ante

Patrick Leonard raised to 600 from early position and Jan Peter Jachtmann three-bet to 1,325 from the button. Both blinds folded, Leonard made the call.

Leonard checked on {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, and called the 1,000 continuation bet Jachtmann made. Both players checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Clubs} popped up on the river.

Leonard was playing with his chips, riffling them continually. "It looked like you checked four times already. You want to make me nervous?" Jachtmann asked, referring to the tapping of the table by Leonard whenever he riffled his chips.

Seconds later Leonard bet 10,000 by tossing in two 5,000 chips.

"Don't raise me" Leonard said with a smile.

"I won't" Jachtmann answered with a wry smile.

"I had a royal flush draw on the flop" Jachtmann said, showing his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} moments later when he threw them in the muck.

"Pick one" Leonard said, and the {A-Spades} was revealed.

Seconds later the floor came over to move Leonard to a different table as there's still new tables opening up. Leonard admitted to also have had ace queen, the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} to be precise he said.

Litvinov Flips For it

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante
Artem Litvinov
Artem Litvinov

Russian Artem Litvinov is easily one of the most entertaining poker players and just now we saw him flip a coin in order to decide between calling or folding.

The board read {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} when Litvinov faced a bet of 14,000 and after a while, as it seemed like he was going back and forth between calling or folding, he grabbed a one-euro coin out of his pocket.

Litvinov flicked the coin in the air, smacked it down on the back of his hand, and after looking down on it he open-folded {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Players at the table laughed, and Litvinov quickly asked his opponent if he had king-six. Litvinov's question remained unanswered, but he's still sitting about the starting stack of 50,000 chips.
