Haxton in a 6-2-1 Hand Win

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Issac Haxton took on five opponents on the flop and managed to reduce that number to one, who was flushed away on the river.

A player raised to 600 and was called in five spots including Haxton and Darren Pearce. The flop fanned {q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Haxton had a stab at the pot with a 2,500 bet. Pearce called quickly and all other players moved out of the way.

Haxton fired another 6,200 on the {9-Hearts} turn after a long tank and was snap called by Pearce. The board completed with the {7-Hearts} and Haxton bet 7,000. Pearce took his time before flicking in the call. Haxton opened {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a flush and Pearce mucked.

Sammartino Busts, Miller's Hero Call the Cause

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Dario Sammartino - playing in the Global Poker Masters yesterday
Dario Sammartino - playing in the Global Poker Masters yesterday

As we arrived, Dario Sammartino had all of his chips in the middle already and the black and red all in triangle was present as well. Sammartino, seated in the big blind, had fired his chips in the pot with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades}. His opponent was Israeli Ori Miller on the button.

Steven van Zadelhoff told us that Sammartino had three bet before the flop and Miller had called. Sammartino then fired on the flop and turn, and shoved all in on the river.

Miller thought long and hard and still had 13,375 behind. He eventually did call.

Sammartino frowned, kind of wanted to muck, but was forced to show his {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Miller tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and took it down. The 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' after the call from the table could be heard in the entire room.

Sammartino was left with just ten big blinds, and lost those not much later. Sammartino won the Global Poker Masters World Cup with his team last night, but came up empty handed here in the Main Event.

Not an Easy Table for Pecheux

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

French poker player of the year 2014, Erwann Pecheux, showed up late and was then led to a table that includes Kevin MacPhee and Carlo Savinelli to mention just two of the familiar faces. MacPhee three-bet to 1,200 after an open raise of a Russian player and then folded to the 3,400 four-bet.

Pecheux wasn't too happy about the table draw, but the Frenchman won't get any easy tables on the hunt for glory. Fellow PMU Poker Pro Damien Lhommeau picked up a nice pot with {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} when we walked past the table to bump up his stack.

The flop brought out {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and Kuo check-called 4,300.

On the turn the {3-Diamonds} hit and both players opted to check this time around. The river was the {Q-Hearts} and Kuo lead out for 9,850. Van Zadelhoff folded his cards and Kuo picked up this pot.

Danzer Not Dancing

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

George Danzer flat-called a raise to 500 in middle position and so did the player in the big blind, heading to a flop of {4-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {3-Clubs}. The action was checked to Danzer and he bet 800 to receive one call by the player in the big blind. The {6-Spades} turn got checked by both and the {4-Clubs} river saw a valuebet of the player in the big blind for 600 chips.

Danzer called and then mucked when he was shown the {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}.

Kings Versus a King

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With already 8,600 in the pot we saw Oliver Price call a 3,000 bet by Mike McDonald on {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

With now 14,600 in the pot, the {K-Clubs} turned and Price checked from the small blind. Mike McDonald, with just 15,250 behind at this time and seated on the button, thought for some time before checking behind.

The {7-Clubs} completed the board and Price checked again. McDonald now grabbed a 5,000 chip and tossed it in the middle. Price reluctantly called.

McDonald showed {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Price flashed the {K-Diamonds} before mucking.
