Guy Taylor Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After a limp for 5,000, Guy Taylor from the United Kingdom shoved all in from the cutoff. We're unsure of the amount, but we are sure that Alexander Ivarsson in the small blind tanked for a bit, and called. The limper instantly folded.

Alexander Ivarsson: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Guy Taylor: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Taylor hit the rail.

Duhamel Takes a Hit

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jonathan Duhamel opened for 11,000 from early position and Rudolf Wilhelm Zintel in the big blind was the sole caller.

Both players checked on {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and the {6-Clubs} popped up on the turn. Zintel bet out 15,000 and Duhamel didn't waste much time tossing in three 5,000 chips as well. The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Zintel checked. Duhamel bet 22,000 and Zintel quickly called.

Duhamel showed ace-king, Zintel tabled {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and took down the pot.

Game Over for Comitini

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Dario Comitini committed his last chips out of the big blind with the {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} only to see Istvan Birizdo look him up with the superior {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. Neither the {2-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} flop nor the {J-Diamonds} turn provided any help. Only two tens in the deck could avoid the elimination, yet the dealer burned and turned the {A-Spades} as final community card.

Giampaolo Double Relief

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Giampaolo Puglia blew a sigh of relief after his pocket queens held to see him double.

Christian Nolte raised and then called after his opponent shoved for 83,000.

Nolte: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Puglia: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board ran {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Sat at their table is Javier Gomez Zapatero who has leapt into the chip lead with 900,000 chips!

Simaitis With Aces

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Gintaras Simaitis had picked the perfect timing to find {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}, as Viktor Litovchenko's {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} found the {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {8-Spades} flop for top pair. The {6-Spades} turn even provided a flush draw for the Russian before the {6-Diamonds} river bricked.

Montury Busts Bertilsson

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Anton Bertilsson
Anton Bertilsson

Anton Bertilsson was all in with {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and chopped the pot against the {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} of Antonin Duda on a board of {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {A-Clubs}.

Shortly after the Swede was at risk again with {Q-Spades} {K-Spades} and Jean Montury held the {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}. Bertilsson's hopes of a comeback were denied with the board running out {4-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} and he headed to the payout desk.

Bertilsson Left Short

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

EPT11 Prague runner-up Anton Bertilsson had a coin flip for the vast majority of his stack with {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} against the {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} of Jonnie Sonelin. The board ran out {2-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {3-Spades} {7-Clubs} and Sonelin doubled for 104,000 chips.

How Big is Your Stack?

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Brett Angell has been boasting a big stack for quite some time already and now got involved in a small pot with Valentin Messina. The Frenchman had scooped two big pots with pocket kings and is now pretty much even with Angell after three-betting to 26,000 from the cutoff and Angell calling as initial raiser.

On the {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} flop, the Brit check-folded to a continuation bet.

Grunewald vs. the WSOP Main Event Champ

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Up at the feature table, Stefan Grunewald got his last 44,500 all in preflop and was racing against reigning World Series of Poker Main Event champ Martin Jacobson.

Grunewald: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Jacobson: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Grunewald was at risk, but all he needed to do was hold to score the double. That's just what he did too after the board ran out a clean {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Levy Busts Karakousis

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Georgios Karakousis
Georgios Karakousis

The hand itself took quite long but ultimately, Georgios Karakousis was all in and at risk for his last 84,500 in chips. The former runner-up of EPT London held {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and was in bad shape against Nir Levy's {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}.

There was no help on the {Q-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} board and Karakousis headed to the payout desk.
