We saw Christian Harder walk away from the table just minutes ago, and Viacheslav Goryachev was stacking a lot of new chips. We were just in time to write down the board of and Goryachev had in front of him. We're not sure what Harder had in the hand, but it might have been as that was what the dealer was just turning over. Whatever happened, Harder is out and Viacheslav Goryachev now has well over 300,000 in chips.
Mike Watson opened to 5,000 from the button and Ole Schemion in the big blind made the call.
Schemion checked on and waited for the 6,000 continuation bet from his Canadian opponent followed. Schemion then raised to 18,000 with a stone cold poker face and Watson called.
Schemion bet 33,500 on the turn and Watson made the call.
The completed the board and Schemion now cut out 3 stacks worth 25,000 each, placed them on top of each other, and slid them forward over the betting line. Watson thought for a bit before folding.
The poker face cracked, Schemion smiled, and grabbed the chips in the sizable pot. Like he does so often.
Kiryl Radzivonau (who started with 133,000) and Aleksei Platonov (who started with 237,000) haven't shown up yet today. They might get some extra sleep, or maybe they thought it was a 1 pm restart like yesterday's starting time. We'll keep an eye on their stacks, let's see when they show up.
With the flop showing , Michael Telker checked from under the gun plus one. Ivan Soshnikov made it 10,000 to go and was called.
The fell on the turn and both players checked before the landed on the river. Telker paused for a moment before moving all in for his remaining 36,400 in chips and was snap called.
Telker tabled his for a set of kings but it was no good as Soshnikov rolled over his for a turned straight.
Joseph Cheong raised from the cut off before Alexander Ivarsson made it 10,000 from the button. Fabrice Soulier was in the big blind and moved all in for his remaining chips. Cheong folded and Ivarsson called before both players revealed their cards.
Soulier:
Ivarsson:
Soulier was in front with his pair of jacks but that wouldn’t last long as the board ran out to see Ivarsson spike an ace on the turn to win the hand.
Thomas Holm raised to 4,300 from the cut off before Ari Engel raised it up to 10,000 from the button. Holm then went into the tank for several minutes before raising it up to 19,300. Engel thought for a moment before making it 47,000, leaving 2,400 behind. Holm made the call and was about to table his cards.
“It’s not showdown yet,” informed the dealer to Holm, referring to Engel still having chips to spare.
The flop came down and Holm checked. Engel then bet 2,200 and was called.
Both checked the on the turn before the completed the board. Again both players checked before Engel turned over his . Holm mucked as Engel raked in the pot.
“One of the most painful hands I’ve ever watched,” said Craig McCorkel, who was also seated at the table.
WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson has been eliminated. Tournament director Teresa Nousiainen told us he had gone all in before the flop holding . His opponent had and the board brought "something like five five deuce deuce". Jacobson gone.
It isn't Mike Watson's day so far. First he lost a pot to Schemion, just now he doubled Timothy Adams. Adams started with a 50,000 stack today but had already lost some before doubling up through Watson just now. Adams had and Watson showed pocket tens. All in before the flop and no help for Watson.
