How to run like Markin

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Leonid Markin
Leonid Markin

"But you should have seen like he acted on the flop," Sabina Hiatullah said when we suddenly noticed the big stack of Leonid Markin. From what we could gather, the Russian had flopped the nut straight with {6-} {7-} on a flop of {4-} {5-} {8-} and a short stack had moved all in. Another player stayed in and turned a set of tens to bust in the same hand as well.

Salter Alert; Others Not So Much

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jack Salter raised under the gun and picked up three callers with the blinds folding.

The flop was {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Salter scanned the faces of his opponents before allowing himself to look at the flop.

Salter checked and the other players checked behind. The turn card was the {3-Spades} and Salter bet 3,025. The first two players folded and the action was on the player on the button who was fiddling with his phone. Alerted that it was his turn he pressed a few buttons, unplugged it, looked at his cards again and after a few moments mucked his cards.

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Liv Boeree opened for 1,100 and faced a three-bet to 3,800 from the player in the big blind.

Boeree cut out some raising chips and four-bet to 8,000. Her opponent wanted to know how much she had behind and she spread out the remainder of her 16,900 stack. He moved all in and Boeree instantly pushed her cards to the dealer.

Blanco Busts Mikovic

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

After a flop of {3-Spades} {8-Hearts} {7-Hearts}, Marko Mikovic bet and then faced the raise of Cristiano Blanco to put him all in. The Serbian gave it some thought and then called off for his last 25,000 with {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs}. He was ahead preflop, but Blanco had spiked a set with {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} and would hold up with the {J-Spades} turn and the {Q-Hearts} river completing the board.

Also out: Tom Hall and Rumen Nanev.
