Popov Rivered

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We caught Georgios Karakousis check from the big blind on a {6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop before Slaven Popov bet out 3,900 middle position.
Karakousis made the call and both players watched the {9-Hearts} fall on the turn.

Karakousis announced all in for a stack of chips and Popov snap called with just under 20,000 in his stack.

Karakousis: {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Popov: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Popov was in great shape to double up until the dealer produced the {5-Spades} on the river giving Karakousis a straight.

Popov was noticeably upset, jumping from his seat and storming out the exit that was directly behind his table.

Dovidaitis Eliminated by Karim

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We arrived at the table just as Egidijus Dovidaitis checked from the small blind on a {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Zohair Karim then bet out before Dovidaitis came over the top announcing all in for 29,600. Karim thought about his decision before making the call.

Dovidaitis: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Karim: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

Dovidaitis was at risk with his flush draw behind to Karim’s pair of jacks. He would find no help as the dealer produced the {2-Hearts} and {2-Spades} on the turn and river to see his day end.

Jacobson Doubles

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Martin Jacobson first defended his big blind against a 3,200-raise of Gerald Karlic and then folded on a flop of {7-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {9-Clubs} to the continuation bet of the Austrian. Karlic has been running over the table as of lately and got paid off with pocket kings, it would however be Darren Rabinowitz that put Jacobson to the rest.

In the next hand, Rabinowitz raised from the button to 3,200 and Jacobson got his remaining 15,000 chips in with {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. Rabinowitz had {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} and couldn't get there on a board of {2-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}.

Zaichenko Busts ElkY

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

It was a dire day for Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, as the French Team PokerStars Pro dropped all the way down to his last five big blinds and then moved all in after a raise of start-of-the-day chip leader Andrey Zaichenko. The pocket jacks of the Russian held in the showdown against {K-} {7-} and ElkY quickly headed out of the tournament area.

Chidwick Shoves Turn

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

In a blind on blind confrontation over a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} the player in the small blind checked to Stephen Chidwick who put out a bet of 6,000 and got a call.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and it was checked to Chidwick who had another look at his hole cards and moved all in covering his opponents remaining 30,000.

His opponent took nearly five minutes thinking time, shifting around in his seat, looking all around the room, back at his cards and then at Chidwick who sat motionless, eyes closed. In the end he mucked and whispered a, “Nice hand.” getting a “Thank you.” in response.

Hakim Wins Huge 3-Way All In

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Jeffrey Hakim
Jeffrey Hakim

From one of our colleagues we heard about a huge hand where Jeffrey Hakim won a three way all in. We headed over to Hakim and asked for some details.

Hakim told us that Arianna Son had opened under the gun, Hakim had flatted with {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and the big blind squeezed. Son made a four bet, Hakim five bet, the big blind six bet all in, Son called it off, and Hakim did the same.

Jeffrey Hakim: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Arianna Son: {Q-}{Q-}
Big blind: {A-}{K-}

The {5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board was full of blanks and Hakim busted Son and crippled the big blind. Hakim, the Lebanese internet sensation who finished 8th in Season 10's EPT Deauville (€60,000) now plays around 270,000 in chips.

Aces Versus Kings

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We arrived at the table just in time to see a player throw out a four bet to 25,700 in chips from under the gun plus one. His opponent was Lukasz Tomecki in the blinds who raised once again to 46,500. A few minutes passed before an all in was announced and Tomecki snap called the shove for his tournament life.

Tomecki: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to see Tomecki rake in a monster pot with his pair of aces.

Danzer Lays Down

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

George Danzer opened for 3,500 but when Jeffrey Hakim raised him to 8,000 he had a decision on his hands.

Danzer mucked and asked Hakim, “Were you suited?”

Hakim didn’t give a straight reply but asked in response, “Guess it was eights or nines?”

Lodden Cracks Aces To Double

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Johnny Lodden had called a 5,600 three-bet from big blind Patryk Poterek and they went heads up to a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Poterek checked and when Lodden bet 5,500 Poterek check-raised him to 12,000. Lodden moved all in and Poterek called to put him at risk.

Lodden had flopped two pair with his {9-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Poterek could only table{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} in despair.

The turn {8-Diamonds} and river {k-Diamonds} didn’t leave Poterek with many chips, but it gave Lodden the Double up he craved.
