Shak Folds Pocket Tens

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

After a raise to 5,000 and one call, Dan Shak also called out of the small blind and Ivan Soshnikov then three-bet tom 32,000 out of the big blind. The other two opponents folded and Shak pondered about his decision for a while. He eventually folded {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} for everybody to see and was shown the {8-Hearts} by Soshnikov.

Cheong Gone

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Joseph Cheong Busts
Joseph Cheong Busts

The action started with Joao Vieira raising to 5,100 from middle position. Leon Tsoukernik and Bryn Kenney made the call from the hijack and cut off respectively before Joe Cheong moved all in for his remaining 46,000 from the button.

The blinds folded back to Vieira who thought about his decision for almost a minute before moving all in over the top for around 150,000 in chips. Tsoukernik quickly folded and was followed shortly after by Kenney.

Vieira: {A-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Cheong: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Cheong was in big trouble and the flop of {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} didn’t help. He then watched as the {7-Hearts} on the turn ad {5-Hearts} on the river were no help as he made his way to the exit.

"Good Fold!"

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Igor Pihela
Igor Pihela

Martin Jacobson opened the cutoff for 6,200 and Igor Pihela made the call from the small blind.

Pihela check called a 5,400 bet on {4-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} and another 7,000 on the {J-Clubs} turn.

The {8-Spades} on the river made Pihela bet out 22,000. After some thinking, where Jacobson looked sincerely puzzled, the two-time EPT runner-up (and he won some tournament in Vegas last month as well) folded his hand.

Another huge grin on Pihela's face, as we had seen some times before today already; "Good fold!" Pihela showed {10-Spades}{9-Hearts} for the back door straight after he received the chips in the pot.

Peters versus Haxton

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Isaac Haxton three-bet an open raise of David Peters and the American called to get to the heads-up flop of {10-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {4-Spades}. Haxton bet 15,000 and Peters called before repeating the same on the {3-Clubs} turn for 50,000. The {K-Hearts} on the river slowed down the action and both players checked. Peters' {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} was second best to the {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} of Haxton.

Clicking Buttons to the Extreme

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Mike Leah opened the action with a raise to 5,000 from the cutoff seat and Martin Kabrhel, who had just arrived, made it 14,100 to go. Leah tanked for a good two minutes and then clicked it to 34,400 only for the Czech to five-bet to 76,900. Leah found a six-bet to 116,000 and Kabrhel then asked if this was correct.

Together with Mike McDonald and the dealer they did the math and Leah had to make it 119,400 in total. Kabrhel made the call and the foreplay already took a mere 10 minutes. On the {8-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} flop, Leah bet 34,000 and was called before putting his opponent all in after the {2-Clubs} turn. Kabrhel folded and lost almost two third of his stack within one active hand played.

I Can Play Both!

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

2013 PokerStars.com EPT Prague €10,300 High Roller champion Ivan Soshnikov is multi-tabling both the Eureka Prague Main Event as well as the EPT Super High Roller event which are running simultaneously on either sides of the room.

With the main event on the money bubble, and with the chip average, Soshnikov is making the most of his time in the high roller event.

In a recent hand, Sorel Mizzi opened to 5,100 from the cut off. Soshnikov bumped it up to 15,000 from the small blind and the bet was called.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Soshnikov threw out a continuation bet worth 21,000. Mizzi called before the {3-Clubs} dropped on the turn.

Soshnikov took a little longer to bet out 56,000 which was called as the {j-Diamonds} completed the board. Soshnikov didn’t hesitate, moving all in for around 235,000 in chips. Mizzi thought about his decision for a minute before eventually mucking his hand.

We will see how Soshnikov fairs in both tournaments as the day progresses.
