"Nyet! Nyet! No More! No! Not tonight! This &*^$#$, all night he, Check. Check. Check. He trap me!"

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Well, it wasn't so much trapping, but there was a lot of checking.

Before the flop Bryn Kenney (button) and Olivier Busquet (small blind) went to war. Kenney opened to 14,000 and Busquet three bet to 43,000. Kenney made it four bets, raising to 89,000. After some time Busquet made the call.

That was it for the action, both players checked the board of {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

Busquet was to show first and rolled over {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for not much of anything. Kenney had slightly betterwith the {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}, and received the chips in the pot.

Roberts takes from Schemion

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Brian Roberts
Brian Roberts

Ole Schemion limped from under the gun and Brian Roberts as well as Pablo Fernandez did so as well, Christoph Vogelsang checked his option in the big blind. Schemion bet the {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} flop and the {K-Clubs} turn to receive a single caller in Brian Roberts. The {Q-Clubs} on the river then triggered a bet of 31,000 by Schemion and Roberts made the call.

Schemion showed {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} for a back door flush, but Roberts had that beat with {Q-Spades} {10-Spades} for a full house.

Soshnikov Regains the Lead

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Ivan Soshnikov and Mike Leah went to the flop of {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} and the Russian fired 25,000 out of the small blind. Leah called and repeated the very same on the {4-Clubs} turn for 56,000. The river brought the {10-Hearts} and the final barrel of the start-of-the-day chip leader was a big one: 140,000.

Leah stared at his opponent for a while and eventually made the call only to muck when Soshnikov showed him the {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} for an overpair to the board.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated by Ole Schemion

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

As we walked up to the table, Sam Greenwood was already put to the test by Ole Schemion for all of his chips. The board read {3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Greenwood had checked from the big blind to his German opponent in the hijack. Ole had bet 100,000 and was effectively asking Greenwood to decide for his tourney life as the Canadian pro had about 71,000 left.

Greenwood thought for some time and eventually made the call. Ole instantly showed {J-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the nuts and Greenwood mucked.

Greenwood told us that Ole had checked back the flop, and Greenwood had lead out on the turn where Schemion had called. So check check on the flop, bet by Greenwood and call by Shcemion on the turn, and check call all in on the river by Greenwood.

Newey Backs Down

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Paul Newey is one of the shorter stacks in the tournament at the moment. He had been all in a few hands ago but got no caller.

Action folded to Newey on the button and he opened for 15,000. Micah Raskin was in the small blind and he raised to 38,000 and pulled down his dark sunglasses. David Peters folded the big blind and it was back on Newey. Not this time, he mucked his hand.

Pahuja Scores a Lucky Chop

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Bryn Kenney opened the action with a raise to 14,000 and Olivier Busquet made it 42,000 to go from one seat over in the button. Out of the small blind, Mukul Pahuja moved all in for 181,000 and Kenney folded. Busquet snap-called with {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} and Pahuja was in desperate shape with his {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}.

Fortunately for Pahuja, the board ran out {2-Spades} {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} and both players chopped the pot with an ace-high straight.

David Peters Eliminated By Stephen Chidwick

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters moved all in for his remaining 57,000 and watched as the action folded around to Stephen Chidwick in the small blind. He looked down at his cards before picking up his larger denomination chips and put in a raise that had Paul Newey covered in the big blind. He thought for a second before letting his hand go as the other two players tabled their cards.

Peters: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Chidwick: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Peters was unable to improve as the board ran out {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to see him eliminated from the tournament.
