The hand started with Brian Roberts raising to 28,000 from the cut off. Pablo Fernandez opted to move all in for his last 132,000 from the big blind and was called almost instantly.
Roberts:
Fernandez:
It was looking like a certain double-up for Fernandez as the dealer spread out but it would be the on the river pairing up Roberts that would see the end to Fernandez’s title hopes.
Brian Roberts raised to 32,000 out of the small blind and then folded when Martin Jacobson moved all in from one seat over. The next hand, Roberts raised again to 30,000 and claimed the blinds and antes.
Fast forward another hand, Stephen Chidwick raised to 30,000 from under the gun and Juha Helppi called to see the flop of . Both players checked and there was no action on the turn either. Helppi then tossed in a T-25,000 chip after the river and Chidwick called with . Helppi only had and the Brit has now overtaken him in the chip count.
Action folded round to Stephen Chidwick in the small blind who completed and the option was on Brian Roberts. He chose to raise to 36,000 and Chidwick made the call.
The flop was and both players checked. The turn card was the and Chidwick checked. Roberts went for a bet of 42,000 and Chidwick went for a raise but it was ruled an under-raise so he made it 84,000.
Chidwick stared Roberts down as he took several minutes to make his decision before eventually making the call.
The river completed the board and Chidwick checked it to Roberts who again took his time making a decision before checking behind.
Chidwick turned over the and that was the winner as Roberts mucked his hand.
Back over at table 3 there's mostly just pre flop all ins to be seen. Both Paul Newey and Andrew Chen are short at this already short handed table. Thorel is still opening hands and is winning a fair share of them. O'Dwyer has slightly more chips but isn't able to get anything going really so far. Troyanovskiy has lots, but has to continually worry about his neighbors shoving on him.
Jean-Noel Thorel opened to 25,000 from the button and Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 78,000 to take down the pot. O'Dwyer would also win the next two hands by raising to 28,000 and raking in the blinds and antes, in the second hand he showed the .
Last but not least Thorel won a battle of the blinds against Steve O'Dwyer by making a continuation bet of 51,000 on a flop of before Andrew Chen did so versus Vladimir Troyanovskiy. In the very last hand, Chen raised to 28,000 from under the gun and folded to the all in of Paul Newey.
The action folded to Tobias Reinkemeier in the small blind and he asked Martin Kabrhel in the big blind for his stack. "About 200 (thousand) and change," the Czech said. Reinkemeier then grabbed three green T-100,000 chips to put his opponent all in. Kabrhel, with a dead serious tone in the voice, asked the dealer "how much?" The opponents at the table started laughing and the Czech then added "that was a joke by the way."
Kabrhel needed another 30 seconds to make the call and then flipped over . Reinkemeier held and the Czech was drawing dead after the turn of a board. There will now be a short break to do the redraw of the last two tables.
