Peter Jepsen on Life Support

Peter Jepsen was sighing and shuffling a tiny stack of gray and green chips totaling only 375 as we passed his table; however, the man on his right, Thomas Billum, was busy stacking up nearly 10,000 chips that once sat in front of Jepsen. Jepsen had flopped a set while Billum flopped a flush draw with {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and moved all in on the flop. Jepsen called, but a diamond hit on the river, crippling him.

Jepsen moved all in on the button on the next hand with {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and got a caller in, Rene Mouritsen in the big blind, holding {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The flop was {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, giving Jepsen a flush draw. The turn was the {K-Spades}, but the river, a beautiful {3-Diamonds} making Jepsen's flush and doubling his stack to 800. The young Dane (who captured an EPT title at Warsaw last year) is down, but still hanging on for dear life.

Andy Black in the Thick of It...

Andy Black
Andy Black
Andy Black has been very involved early on. He was down to 3,000 after his 5 high ran into trip aces. He then doubled up with 5-4 suited when he flopped a draw which he rivered against queens to take him back up to just over 6,000. He seems in very bouyant spirits, he also reckons the dealer is the most aggressive player on the table.

The EPT Fashion Report

Giddyup!
Giddyup!
OK, so you've all seen the guy wearning the elephant head by now. If not, I'd recommend scrolling down to catch a glimpse of poor Uffe Holm who is either looking for serious camera time, or is on the losing end of some sort of prop bet. Table 28 is also home to some... interesting... fashion choices. Team Poker Stars player Luca Pagano is wearing a pink button down shirt so bright it's nearly day-glo, while next to him, Alexander Peterson is sporting a red and white printed scarf (which reminds this reporter of a picnic tablecloth) that frames his wildly spiked blonde hair. I wonder what kind of product he uses to get it to stand up so straight?

Then there is Alfonso Amendola, who is decked out in full cowboy regalia, complete with a Stetson and an unlit cigar hanging out of his mouth.

On the other end of the spectrum, the always impeccable Katja Thater is playing today, donning a crisp white button down shirt. I'm also consumed with purse-envy over her caramel-colored soft leather bag.

Tony G Eliminated

Micke Norinder just eliminated Tony G who was down to 2,500 chips. The action is unknown but Tony had {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Micke had {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, the flop came down queen high all hearts but Micke hit a runner runner full house according to Nicolas Levi who was at the table. "I was outclassed" said the enigmatic Tony G.

Liam Flood Lays One Down

Liam Flood
Liam Flood
Liam Flood raised it up pre-flop with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and got four callers. His bet on the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop got one caller and when the {J-Clubs} fell on the turn, his 2,000 bet was raised all in by his opponent. Liam elected to fold this time.
