The Hendon Mobster vs. The Great Dane

Stig Top Rasmussen limped in from early position, Barny Boatman completed the small blind and Gus Hansen checked his option from the big blind. The flop was {9-Spades}

. Boatman bet 300, Hansen called and Rasmussen folded. The turn was the {K-Spades}

and both players checked. The river was the {8-Hearts}

. Boatman bet another 300.

"That wasn't very much" said Hansen as he raised to 1,275.

"Well, that was sneaky!" said Boatman as he pondered a call.

"It's not sneaky-- I'm a straight shooter you know" replied Hansen.

Boatman made what looked like a reluctant call and saw the bad news when Hansen turned up {6-Hearts}

for trip eights. The Great Dane dragged the pot and increased his stack to 12,500. Boatman was still left with a very healthy 15,000 in chips.
