Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised to 130,000 from the small blind and Max Altergott called from the big blind. The flop brought out {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Mercier bet 105,000, Altergott called.

Mercier Loses Million-Chip Pot

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Jason Mercier's stack has suffered the first big dent to his stack after a battle in the blinds with Vladimir Troyanovsky.

The latter raised to 100,000 from the small blind and Mercier peeled to see a {4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop. Troyanovsky led for 100,000 and the Team PokerStars called to the {j-Diamonds} turn where his oppoenent checked to him. He took the invitation to bet by sliding 270,000 forward. Call.

Both players checked the {q-Spades} river and Troyanovsky's {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} bettered Mercier's {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}. He dropped to around 3.3 million whereas the Russian is up to 2.2 million.

Two in a Row for Mizzi

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi is starting to make his mark on the final after winning two pots in a row. He three-bet Mike Watson off a hand pre flop and then he took a bigger one off Max Altergott.

Mizzi raised to 100,000 from the cut-off and Altergott defended from the big blind to see a {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop. Both players checked to the {5-Hearts} turn where Altergott led for 125,000. Call.

On the river, Altergott check-folded to a 280,000 bet from Mizzi.

It was the correct fold as Mizzi's {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} was ahead of his opponent's {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.
