Deeb Putting the Pressure On

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Faced with a bet of 5,000 on board of {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, Freddy Deeb fired out five blue T5,000 chips. The bet was effectively 22,000 - the remainder of the player's stack - and the gentleman went deep into the tank.

He eventually folded, and Deeb tossed his cards into the muck. Deen, who finished 10th in the EPT6 Deauville Main Event, now sits with 48,000 chips.

More for Mitchell

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

When we arrived at the table, James Mitchell and an opponent were heads up on a board of {j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Mitchell fired 8,000 into a pot of around 20,000, and his opponent tank-called.

Mitchell showed {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for top two pair, and his opponent flashed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} before mucking.

Mitchell, who just finished seventh in the EPT Berlin High Roller, now sits with more than double the starting stack.

Mizzi's Wrong

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The EPT Main Event structure gives players a ton of play throughout the tournament, but especially in the beginning there's no reason to rush. Because of this we haven't seen too many big pots but Sorel Mizzi just managed to lose a decent sized one.

The board read {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} when Mizzi check-called a 3,500-chip bet after which his opponent showed {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Mizzi was knocked down to 27,200 but that's nothing to be concerned about.

Rousso Joins The Fun

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody just got familiar company from two of his fellow sponsored pros. Vanessa Rousso sat down to Cody's immediate left while Ville Wahlbeck is sitting a couple of seats over.

Rousso has great memories of the EPT Grand Final as she managed to notch up her biggest victory right here. Back in 2009 Rousso won the €25,000 High Roller for €532,500 after beating Randy Dorfman heads up.

Wahlbeck has had his share of results and his best year by far was 2009. Wahlbeck made four WSOP final tables and won the $10,000 8-Game Championship for $492,384.

Pay that Man His Money

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Mark Teltscher nodded after he saw Patrice Brandt's hand and threw over the necessary chips.

The final board read {5-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Brandt bet 1,350 on the turn and 2,800 on the river. His {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} was good for pot after the former EPT London champion called all bets.

The very next hand Teltscher raised to 500 before Dan Smith three-bet to 1,400 and Ilkin Amirov four-bet to 3,100. The four-bet did the trick as both his opponents folded.
