Pantling Playing Power Poker

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Freddy Deeb opened to 40,000 from early position, Andrew Pantling called on his direct left, and Noah Schwartz called in the hijack seat.

The dealer fanned {2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Deeb checked, Pantling fired 85,000, and Schwartz tanked for 30 seconds or so before raising to 192,000. Deeb quickly folded, and Pantling cut out a tower of yellow T25,000 chips, re-raising to 435,000.

Schwartz went back into the tank, but eventually folded.

There's Only Room For Eight!

There are still 16 players battling it out for a spot at the final table, but only eight will make it that far today! Andrew Pantling leads the way with 2,248,000 chips and has a huge lead over a group of players who are all stars of the game. John Juanda is currently in second place with 1,395,000 and he's looking to improve on his EPT London 2010 runner-up finish.

Team PokerStars Pros Johnny Lodden, Daniel Negreanu, Victor Ramdin, Jason Mercier and Jake Cody are still in the hunt for finally winning an EPT again wearing the PokerStars colors since Sandra Naujoks in March 2009 during the EPT Season 5 Dortmund stop. Cody is the only remaining EPT winner still left in the tournament but he starts out today as the short stack.

Play will resume at 12:00 Noon with 13 minutes left in Level 22. All remaining players are guaranteed to win at least €37,000 and surviving today would mean at least a €103,000 payday. The eventual winner of this year's PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final will walk away with €1,224,000!
