The German port city of Hamburg is one of the places to be in Europe this week, as not only is it hosting the tantalising Euro 2024 quarter-final heavyweight clash between Portugal and France on Friday 5 July, the 2024 PokerStars Eureka Hamburg event is already in full swing at Casino Schenefeld.
In what promises to be a huge stop, the €330 Eureka Cup is already underway and onto Day 2, attracting 615 entries. Those hopefuls generated a prize pool of €175,275, a record for the Hamburg leg of the series, with all 92 players remaining in the money. No doubt they will all have their eyes on the top prize of €32,500.
Joachim Heselmeyer is the chip leader coming into Day 2, while PokerStars Team Pro Felix "xflixx" Schneiders squeaked through to Day 2.
PokerNews will be focusing our coverage on the €1,100 Main Event, a three-day tournament, Day 1a of which takes place today, Wednesday 3 July 2024 at 4:00 p.m. local time.
Tom Holke took home the inaugural title in 2015, and the defending champion is Denmark's Brian Klindrup, who banked €23,310 after defeating German Deniz Goek heads-up for the title.
Players will start with 30,000 chips at blind level 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante, with the event featuring 40-minute levels. Play will continue until the end of Level 13 or 14 for each Day 1, to be confirmed.
Players will have three opportunities to progress to Day 2, with Day's 1b-1c taking place at 4:00 p.m. local time on 4 and 5 July. Each flight permits a single reentry.
The event then moves towards its conclusion with Day 2 on Saturday 6 July at 3:00 p.m., and the final day begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday July 7. Both Day 2-3 will feature 60-minute levels.

Online poker's most prestigious low-stakes tournament series is returning to PokerStars from July and bringing with it $4 million in guaranteed prize pools. The 2024 edition of the ever-popular MicroMillions sees 208 affordable events take place between July 7-21 in what will be a fortnight of incredible poker action.
Where many poker tournament festivals focus on high-stakes events, often with tournaments commanding four, five, or six-figure buy-ins, the MicroMillions events start from only $1.10 and top out at a still affordable $55.
However, just because MicroMillions tournaments don't cost the earth to enter doesn't mean there isn't plenty of money to play for. The smallest guaranteed prize pool offered during the series is $1,500, and there are five events with six-figure guarantees, including the $500,000 guaranteed MicroMillions Main Event.
