Game #5: Randy Lew v. Sorel Mizzi

With the series tied 2-2, Randy Lew enters the GPL cube to face Sorel Mizzi again. So far for the Berlin Bears, Brian Rast is the only player to win a game for them.

Brian Rast Wins Again, Berlin and Hong Kong Tied 2-2

The second heads up match between Guo Dong and Brian Rast is over and Rast won to tie the series 2-2.

The two players took turns doubling each other up and finally, Rast secured the win when both players had queen-high and he held the better kicker.

Guo Dong Shoves on Rast, Rast Doubles

Guo Dong shoved with {j-}{10-} against a short-stacked Brian Rast. Rast had {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and his an ace on the flop. He stayed ahead to double up and give Rast the chip lead.

Then Dong shoved with {q-}{8-} and was at risk against the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} of Rast. Dong flopped a queen and doubled up, and now he has the chip lead again.

Guo Dong Makes a Straight Flush

Guo Dong three-bet preflop with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Brian Rast called. The flop came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Dong bet 19,400. Rast called and Dong turned a straight flush. Dong bet 19,400 again on the turn and Rast folded.

Game #4: Guo Dong v. Brian Rast

Guo Dong and Brian Rast return to the GPL cube for a rematch. Rast took the first one to put the Bears up 1-0, but this time Dong comes in with a 2-1 lead and is looking to extend his team's lead.

Celina Lin Wins, Hong Kong Takes 2-1 Lead

Celina Lin beat Bill Perkins during both players first trip into the GPL cube. Lin doubled up Perkins with jack-high one hand before she got pocket aces against the ace-jack of Perkins.

Lin put her team in the lead with game #4 coming up shortly.

Celina Lin Leads With a Bluff

Celina Lin bet the river on a {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} board. Bill Perkins checked to her and she made it 33,880 and Perkins folded.

Celina Lin Out Front Early

Celina Lin and Bill Perkins both flopped a pair on this hand. Perkins flopped top pair, holding an ace. Lin flopped a pair of eights.

The board ran out {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Perkins led the river for 5,200. Lin made it 22,220 and Perkins called quickly. Lin won the hand with trip eights and took an early lead in the third game of this best-of-seven series.

Celina Lin's team is tied 1-1 and she is heading into the GPL cube for the first time this season. She faces another cube first-timer Bill Perkins.

Randy Lew Evens the Series 1-1

Randy Lew continued his strong performances in heads up GPL matches. He entered the cube with his team down 1-0 facing Sorel Mizzi. The two players were fairly even through 15 hands and then Lew got pocket aces. From that point, he took a big chunk of Mizzi's stack and continued to roll until he got ace-king against the ace-ten of Mizzi.
