Hong Kong Stars vs. Berlin Bears

Day 1 Completed

Perkins Puts the Stars Out After a Wild End to Game #6

Bill Perkins has defeated Celina Lin to send the Hong Kong Stars to the GPL Playoff rail and move on to play the top seeded Moscow Wolverines.

Perkins was poised to win the match with pocket queens versus the pocket sixes of Lin. She shoved all in and Perkins hesitated for a moment before calling and putting Lin at risk. This began a series of three turns that changed the outcome of the tournament. Lin hit a six on this turn to double up. A few hands later, Perkins hit a nine on the turn to complete a straight and come from behind to double through Lin.

Finally, the turn that ended the match came after Lin got all in with king-high against the ace-high of Perkins. Lin flopped a king and Perkins wondered aloud if there was a god. The turn brought an ace, giving Perkins the win and putting the Berlin Bears through to the Eurasia Conference Final.

Bill Perkins Gets Aggressive Preflop

Bill Perkins raised preflop to 7,680 holding {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Celina Lin three-bet with {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, making it 19,990. Perkins then four-bet to 60,450 and Lin folded.

Twenty Hands Down, Lin Holds a Slight Edge

Hong Kong Stars Manager Celina Lin has a slight lead after 20 hands in game #6. If she manages to defeat Bill Perkins again, she can force a game seven in this series.

Game #6: Bill Perkins v. Celina Lin

The Berlin Bears are sending Bill Perkins back into the GPL cube to try and clinch their spot in the next round of the playoffs to face the Moscow Wolverines.

Perkins will face Hong Kong Stars Manager Celina Lin, who beat him earlier in the series.

Sorel Mizzhi Gives Berlin Bears a 3-2 Series Lead

Sorell Mizzi beat Randy Lew heads up to give the Berlin Bears a 3-2 series lead over the Hong Kong Stars.

The two players took about 15 minutes off in the middle of the match to fix some technical difficulties. Eventually Lew got all in with a flush draw against Mizzi's top pair. Mizzi managed to win the match, despite getting himself into the Hot Seat, which gave him only four seconds to make each decision when he ran out of his allotted time.

Play Resumes in Game #5

After a 15-minute delay, Randy Lew and Sorel Mizzi are playing again.

Lew and Mizzi Still Even After 20 Hands

Randy Lew and Sorel Mizzi have made it through 20 hands and both have close to the same chip stack. The two players are joking back and forth as they jockey for position and try to give their team the series lead.
