Sammartino Eliminated in Second Place

Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammartino was left with a little over ten big blinds in the 1,200/2,400-level when he got it all in preflop. He was holding {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and had a coinflip against Dominik Nitsche's {9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

The flop wasn't too much of a worry for Sammartino with {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, but the {9-Spades} turn gave Nitsche a bigger pair. The {10-Diamonds} river wasn't the escape route Sammartino was looking for and he finished this heat in second place.

Yaroshevsky Busted By Sammartino in Third Place

Igor Yaroshevsky
Igor Yaroshevsky

From the button Dario Sammartino put Igor Yaroshevsky to the test by raising all-in. The Moscow Wolverines player made the call and was at risk with his {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Sammartino showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and was clearly ahead.

The {3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop gave Yaroshevsky some additional outs. The {5-Diamonds} turn made it even better, but the river wasn't one of his outs with the {J-Spades}.

Yaroshevsky was out in third for three points.

Boeree Eliminated in Fourth

On a {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop Dominik Nitsche put the pressure on Liv Boeree by shoving all in with his {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a combo draw. Boeree was holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} with only 15,000 chips left and 6,000 already in the middle. She tanked for a while and elected to call.

Boeree was in trouble and needed an ace or a king to stay alive. The {10-Spades} turn and {3-Diamonds} river where no help to here and she was eliminated in fourth place, raking in only two points for the London Royals.

Shortly after his big pot against Dominik Nitsche, Alexandre Luneau founds himself all-in with {9-Spades}{10-Spades} against the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} from Liv Boeree.

Nitsche Doubles Through Luneau

Alexandre Luneau raised from the cut off to 1,720 in the 400/800 level. From the small blind Domink Nitsche put in a three-bet to 6,800 with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Boeree folded here big blind and Luneau called with his {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

Nitsche continued for 5,000 on the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and Luneau made the call. The flop looked like the money card for Luneau with the {J-Spades} but it actually got him in trouble with a lower two pair.

Nitsche bet 6,000 into the 25,000 pot and Luneau called again. Nitsche than shoved on the {6-Clubs} river and Luneau quickly called and saw the bad news.

Dong Eliminated in Sixth Place

While the stream was offline, Guo Dong has already busted out of this heat. We don't know the details of his exit.

With his sixth place he doesn't earn any points for the Hong Kong Stars. This will probably cost them their third place in the standings, because the Paris Aviators of chipleader Alexandre Luneau are only two points behind.

Luneau is leading the field with 36,500 points, but Igor Yaroshevsky and Dario Sammartino are right on his heels.
