Gareth Cresswell Eliminated in 8th Place (£17,070)

Level 40 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante
Gareth Cresswell
Gareth Cresswell

Gareth Cresswell shoved all in for 22,000,000 with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} but was quickly called by Young Seo Yoon with {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}, putting Cresswell at risk.

Cresswell needed a lot of help to stay alive, but the board of {7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades} did him no favors and he was eliminated in 8th place for a payout of £17,070.

Peter Norton Eliminated in 9th Place (£14,630)

Level 39 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Peter Norton
Peter Norton

Peter Norton shoved from under the gun with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for 15,000,000. It folded to Luke Cheslin in the big blind who folded {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

On the next hand, Charlie Tarimo raised to 2,500,000 in the hijack and Peter Norton three-bet all in for 17,000,000 from the big blind. Tarimo called.

Peter Norton: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Charlie Tarimo: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Norton would need his pocket pair to hold, but the {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} runout saw Tarimo spike a queen and send Norton to the rail as the first casualty at the Goliath X final table.

Balan Vasilica Eliminated in 10th Place (£11,950)

Level 39 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Balan Vasalica
Balan Vasalica

After Balan Vasilica limped with {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, David Reed raised to 14,000,000 with {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} to cover him, and Vasilica decided to make the call and himself at risk.

After a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, it was not looking good for Vasilica and the turn {6-Spades} left him drawing dead. The meaningless {3-Hearts} on the river completed the board and Vasilica was eliminated in 10th place which means it is down to the final table.

Reed Takes Down Massive Pot to Launch into chip Lead

Level 39 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Young Seo Yoon opened to 2,400,000 with {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and David Reed defended his button with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

On the {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} Yoon continued for 2,000,000 and Reed called.

Yoon then bet 6,000,000 on the {k-Spades} turn and again Reed called.

The river was the {k-Hearts} and Yoon decided to check, to which Reed fired for 7,500,000 and Yoon made the fold.

Jade Walker Eliminated in 11th Place (£11,950)

Level 39 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Jade Walker
Jade Walker

Jade Walker moved all in from under the gun and was snap-called by Georgian Georgescu, putting Walker at risk.

Jade Walker: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Georgian Georgescu: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Walker looked like the wind had been taken out of her when she realized what she was up against, and the runout did not help her with a {5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs} board. Walker was eliminated in 11th place for a payout of £11,950.

David Roe Eliminated in 12th Place (£10,360)

Level 39 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
David Roe
David Roe

David Roe was all in for 11,000,000 and was covered by just 100,000 by Gareth Cresswell.

David Roe: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Gareth Cresswell: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Jacks would need to hold to keep Roe's hopes of winning the Goliath alive, but the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs} runout was not what he wanted, giving Cresswell two pair and sending Roe to the rail.
