After starting the day with 1,075 players, just 42 remain in the 2022 Grosvenor Goliath X Main Event after Day 2, with each player hungrier than the last for their chance of victory and the £200,000 first-place prize.

The chip lead changed many times over the course of the 16 40-minute levels but in the end, it is Saied Yolmeh leading the way with a whopping 15,350,000. Even more incredible is the fact that he was actually the shortest stack coming into Day 2 with a mere 19,800!

Right behind him is Luke Cheslin(11,100,000),Young Seo Yoon(11,675,000) and David Reed(11,150,000). Rounding out the top five is Sean Quinn with 11,100,000.

The bubble burst early in the second level of play today when Martin Clark lost a flip with jacks against ace-king and Wah Tan ironically lost his following flip with ace-king to tens to be the stone bubble in 1,000th place.

Grosvenor Team Pros in the money included Euan McNicholas (167th - £790), Katie Swift (368th - £460), and Jamie Nixon (643rd - £340).

Other notables who cashed included Yucel Eminoglu (160th - £790), Steve Jelinek (252nd - £590), Start-of-day chip leader John Lynch (332nd - £500), Chris Dasilva (383rd - £460), Artan Dedusha (436th - £430) and Sin Melin (582nd - £370).

After eight starting flights, the surviving 1,075 players in the largest Grosvenor Poker Goliath Main Event in history return to the Coventry Building Society Arena today for Day 2.

Leading the way is John Lynch who bagged the chip lead in Day 1g with 1,037,000. The only other player with a seven-figure stack is Luke Hallinan (1,009,000).

The record for biggest Goliath field (set in 2019 at 9,299) was absolutely smashed over the course of this week, with the tournament surpassing 10,000 entries for the first time in its history.

There are four Grosvenor-sponsored pros in the field for Day 2 with Katie Swift (298,000), Euan McNicholas (359,000), Andy Hills (315,000) and Jamie Nixon (200,000) all advancing with healthy stacks.
