The biggest-ever GUKPT Main Event came to a close, with rising star Ravi Sheth taking down the £1,250 buy-in tournament for a career-best £192,700.

A total of 1,023 entries created a massive prize pool, and all eyes were on Richard Trigg and Katie Swift at the final table as both looked to make their own slice of GUKPT history.

Trigg was chasing a record-breaking fourth GUKPT Main Event title, but his bid fell just short with a fourth-place finish for £74,400. Swift, meanwhile, was aiming to become the first woman to win a GUKPT Main Event. After finishing runner-up in Luton last September, she once again made a deep run but bowed out in sixth place, earning £38,480.

In the end, it was Sheth who stole the spotlight. The young Brit sealed his second GUKPT Main Event title, following his win in Blackpool last November, and confirmed his place as one of the UK circuit’s deadliest players.

Sheth defeated Simon Willson heads-up to claim the trophy, with Willson banking £140,580 for his impressive runner-up finish. Josh Curry rounded out the podium in third for £102,420.
