Timothy Chung

After under-the-gun raised, Shun Bok Hui called from the cutoff and so did Timothy Chung from the button. The other players folded and they were three players to a flop.

{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} caused it to be checked to Chung who bet 1,500. After the early position player folded, Hui made the call.

Both Hui and Chung checked the {k-Diamonds} turn but on a {3-Clubs} river, once Hui checked again, Chung fired 7,000 and Hui mucked his holding.

Christoforou Playing The 7-2 Game, Apart From He Also Makes a Boat

Level 2 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
Andrew Christoforou
Andrew Christoforou

With action four ways to a board of {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} with 1,400 in the middle, it was the 800 bet of Andrew Christoforou from the hijack that was called by Noel Broadbent in the small blind. The original raiser folded and Leo Worthington called in middle position.

The {4-Diamonds} turn slowed action, the three players all checking.

On a river of {2-Spades} the small blind of Broadbent lead for 1,100, Worthington reacted by raising to 4,400 before Christoforou moved all in for 20,900. Broadbent then moved all in too and Worthington mucked.

It was Christoforou with {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} that took the pot down with a full house, beating the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flush of Broadbent.

''Its my first hand, you gotta play the seven-deuce'', said Christoforou as he smiled, offering an ''Unlucky'' to his table mate, Broadbent.

PokerNews welcomes you back to Day 1b of the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT), brought to you live from Grosvenor Casino, Reading South.

The action continues today with Day 1b of the £1,000 Main Event, which will run exactly how Day 1a did, yesterday, starting at 12:00 p.m. local UK time. There will be another 10 levels of play in this Day 1b flight, with a Day 1c turbo flight from 9:00 p.m, which will be on 20 minute levels, as opposed to the 60-minute levels of Day 1b.

Players will start with 20,000 chips with blinds at 100/100. From Level 2, there will be a big blind ante in place. Players can expect 15-minute breaks after every two levels and a 60-minute break after Level 4 for the Day 1b flight, with fewer breaks in place for the Day 1c flight.

The Day 1a flight saw 90 entrants, including many re-entries, with 24 players bagging and tagging for Day 2. It is worth noting that players can re-enter two more times per flight if they bust their first bullet, many players have and will continue to take advantage of this option as they try and grind up a stack for Day 2, including Jacque Ramsden (183,800), Jamie Nixon (68,200) and Paul Vas Nunes (37,400).

British pro Tom Hall was the last winner on the GUKPT. He topped the 341-player field and took down the 2022 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Luton Main Event for £90,965, as well as the GUKPT title.

There will also be a live-streamed feature table presented by the GUKPT, available to watch on YouTube and Twitch.
