Day 2 of the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour GUKPT £1,000 Main Event starts today. A field of 97 hopefuls return to try and negotiate their stack down to the final table and give themselves a shot at the title of GUKPT champion.

The action continues in Day 2 from 12:00 p.m, local time, with another 10 levels each 60-minute long to be played, or playing to a final table (whichever comes first). Level 11 will be where they start, with blinds at 600/1200 with a 1200 big blind ante.

Of the 355 entrants, 24 made it from day 1a, 58 from day 1b and 15 from 1c. Among the chip leaders are Vikrum Mehta, Jacque Ramsden (183,800) and Christopher Brammer (146,300).

Fellone Turn Bet is Enough

Level 11 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a board of {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} with 12,000 in the middle, Nicholas Fellone had bet 8,000 from the cutoff versus the big blind of Duc Cao.

Cao, the Scot who was featured multiple times in Day 1 coverage, let this one go this time.

Broadbent Takes His Exit

Level 11 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After Kuljinder Sidhu opened from early position, Noel Broadbent moved all in for his last 24,000 chips and Sidhu snapped off once everyone else got out of the way.

Noel Broadbent: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Kuljinder Sidhu: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} meant Sidhu's hand held up and gave him the knockout on Broadbent.

Cao Fought the Law but the Law Won

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Duc Cao had limp called from the cutoff only to be raised by Dan Laidlaw on the button to 6,000.

Cao made the call and checked to Laidlaw on {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Laidlaw checked it back.

When a {5-Clubs} turn fell and Cao checked again, Laidlaw was done with the checking and fired 9,000. Cao didn't take too long to muck his holding, giving Laidlaw the pot.
