Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Steve Jelinek
Steve Jelinek

After Day 1b of the GUKPT London Main Event, 98 players advanced from a field of 373. The chip lead is held by Steve Jelinek (240,000) ahead of Ciaran McCullagh (231,500).

Further back is Terry Jordon who, barely 24 hours since his son won the GUKPT London High Roller title, bagged a strong stack of 172,500.

Other big stacks include Leon Campbell (141,100), Guy Taylor (129,000), Gary Miller (119,700) and Kuljinder Sidhu (107,500).

Grosvenor Poker 2021 National League Champion Euan McNicholas also bagged ahead of Day 2, with his stack of 59,700 below average but still 50 big blinds.

Players who were unfortunate to miss out include Grosvenor Sponsored Pros Katie Swift and Jamie Nixon, along with Chris Da Silva, Francois Pirault, Ludovic Geilich, Sam Grafton, Niall Farrell and Muskan Sethi.

The tournament resumes at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 5 with the survivors from the Turbo Day 1C which at the time of writing is reaching its conclusion. We will post a full list of players advancing from that flight after its conclusion later tonight.

Grosvenor Pro Nixon Eliminated

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jamie Nixon
Jamie Nixon

Jamie Nixon was all in for 51,200 against Kuljinder Sidhu who covered him by just 700 chips.

Nixon held {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} against the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} of Sidhu. There was a ten on the flop of {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} giving Sidhu a set. The turn {7-Diamonds} and river {a-Diamonds} weren't enough to save Nixon, and after a quick count by the dealer he was eliminated.

Farrell Angry With Himself

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Sam Goodman had opened and Niall Farrell had three-bet to 1,800. Goodman had four-bet to 4,700 and Farrell called.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Goodman bet 1,100. Farrell called. The turn {7-Hearts} was checked by both players and the river was the {10-Clubs}. Goodman bet 3,500 and Farrell lifted his cards before folding.

"I'm so angry for giving you an extra 1,100 on the flop," he said, but the Scottish Triple Crown winner still sits with well over starting stack.

Miller into the Chip Lead After Flush Over Flush

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Gary Miller
Gary Miller

We caught the action on the river of {2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds} with R. B. betting 4,000 into a pot over just over 6,000. His opponent was Gary Miller on the button who wasted not time moving all in, putting his opponent to the test.

R. B. called with {j-Spades}{5-Spades} for a flush, but Miller had that beat with {q-Spades}{4-Spades} as Miller moved up to around 55,000 in chips.
