Podolsky Caught Bluffing

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Anatoly Podolsky bet 35,000 from under the gun on a {k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop that he saw heads up with Steven Gurney-Goldman, who called. Podolsky checked the {9-Hearts}, and Gurney-Goldman checked back. Podolsky bet 45,000 on the {4-Clubs} river, and Gurney-Goldman called.

Podolsky indicated he had nothing, and Gurney-Goldman showed {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Slow Going

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The players haven't clashed in any big pots recently.

Moore Folds the River

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Steven Gurney-Goldman raised to 35,000 first to act and got calls from both blinds. Action checked to him on the {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, and he bet 45,000. Ken Moore made it 100,000, forcing Anatoly Podolsky out. Gurney-Goldman called, then called the same bet on the {2-Diamonds} turn. A {3-Spades} arrived on the end, and Moore patted the table once. Gurney-Goldman said he was all in after a minute of thought, and Moore took off his glasses and set them on the felt, considering the board and his opponent. After two or three minutes of thought, he folded.

Jeremy Cline - 5th Place
Jeremy Cline - 5th Place

Anatoly Podolsky raised under the gun and called the shove of Jeremy Cline, who had a bit over 100,000.

Podolsky: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Cline: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The race was on, but it was over quickly as Podolsky flopped a set and turned a boat, clapping forcefully when he saw the {6-Spades} on the flop.

Bitzer Doubles Through Gurney-Goldman

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Steven Gurney-Goldman, who shoved all in from the small blind. Kent Bitzer called for 154,000.

Gurney-Goldman: {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Bitzer: {a-}{k-}

"Fade it," Bitzer said, and he did as the board ran out {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Rob Brown Eliminated in 6th Place ($5,044)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Rob Brown - 6th Place
Rob Brown - 6th Place

Ken Moore opened for a raise to 28,000, and Rob Brown said he was all in from the button, what looked to be about a 140,000 shove. Steven Gurney-Goldman jammed it in from the big blind, and Moore folded.

Gurney-Goldman: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Brown: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Brown stood up, knowing he would need to get lucky, but he found only a backdoor straight draw on the {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop. The dealer burned and turned an {8-Clubs} though, and a double looked imminent. However, the lead was fleeting for Brown as the {q-Spades} hit the river.

Chris Moneymaker Eliminated in 7th Place ($4,402)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker - 7th Place
Chris Moneymaker - 7th Place

Chris Moneymaker opened to 25,000 under the gun and saw the {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop heads up with Anatoly Podolsky. Moneymaker bet 33,000, and Podolsky called. He bet 55,000 on the {4-Clubs} turn, and Podolsky took his time and called again.

"How much do you have left?" Moneymaker asked. "About 100,000?"

It looked to be around 130,000, and Moneymaker said he was all in after the {10-Spades} river.

"Call," Podolsky said instantly, tabling {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for the stone nuts.

"Wow," Moneymaker said, sending 139,000 across the table. "I'm running into some big hands."

He only had about 60,000 left, and he got the rest in a few hands later with {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} but didn't improve against Jeremy Cline's jacks.
