Tran Crippled, Busted

Level 9 : 400/800, 75 ante
Win Tran
Win Tran

Win Tran opened for a raise on the button and then called a three-bet from small blind Ben Grise. On the {k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop, Grise bet 5,100 and then called a raise to 14,000. He checked the {9-Clubs} turn and saw Tran bet 21,000. Grise moved all in for 5,225 more, and Tran breathed deep and called, muttering "here we go."

Tran: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Grise: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Grise had turned the straight with a flush draw, so Tran needed a heart. A red card hit, but it was the {4-Diamonds}. Tran was left with only about 2,000, and he busted the next hand.

Eldridge Shows a Bluff, Then Bounces One

Level 9 : 400/800, 75 ante
David Eldridge
David Eldridge

"This is like a six-bet," Win Tran said of the pot going on at his table.

Ben Grise had 7,000 in front of him preflop in the hijack, and David Eldridge had made it 20,000 on the button.

"There's better spots," Grise said, finally mucking.

Eldridge showed a {7-Spades}.

"Still might have been ahead," Grise said.

Eldridge revealed his other card: {10-Clubs}.

"Wow," Grise said.

The next hand, Eldridge opened for a raise in the cutoff and then called the shove of a short-stacked player who had about 7,000 in the small blind.

Eldridge: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Eldridge made a flush as the board ran out {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Kidman Gets a Light Call

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante
Donnie Kidman
Donnie Kidman

We found Donnie Kidman all in for 10,175 in late position, having been called by a player under the gun. A third player was thinking it over, with 2,500, already in front of him, before deciding to fold {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} face-up.

Kidman: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Under the gun: {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Kidman predicted an eight-six would hit for a sweat, but instead {3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades} flopped to give him a near-cinch. The {3-Diamonds} turn ended things.

Enders Rivers Another Broadway; Cunix Busto

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante
Shawn Cunix
Shawn Cunix

A player in the small blind bet 4,600 on a board of {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, got one fold, and then Casey Enders called in the hijack. On the {q-Hearts} river, the small blind bet 7,500, and Enders tossed in a quick call.

The small blind showed {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for bottom pair, and Enders had hit a straight with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

At another table in the cash room, Shawn Cunix's seat is occupied by another player now.

Eldridge's Value Bet Backfires

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

A player in the small blind bet 2,000 into three opponents on a board of {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and David Eldridge made it 6,000 from the big blind. Mike Senneff cold-called from middle position, and the player on the button followed suit. The bettor mucked, and the three remaining players saw a {6-Spades} river. Eldridge bet 9,900, and Senneff tossed in a call. The player on the button agonized awhile before calling also.

Eldridge showed {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for a backdoor flush, but the spade turned out to be a bad card as Senneff held {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for the nut flush. The third player cursed a few times and mucked.

Ringger Calls Down

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Matt Ringger
Matt Ringger

Matt Ringger bet 3,000 from the big blind on a {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop and received a call from his opponent on the button. Ringger bet the same amount on the {5-Hearts} turn, and his opponent popped it to 13,000. Ringger called, then check-called 18,000 more on the {6-Spades} river.

The aggressor seemed reluctant to show, so Ringger revealed {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

"Wow," his opponent said as he mucked.
