Childs Doubles

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Lee Childs
Lee Childs

Mike Sites said he doubled up Lee Childs. According to Sites, the two got all in and Sites was ahead with {10-}{10-} against the {9-}{9-} of Childs. Childs caught a nine and Mel Lyon thinks that's bad for the rest of the table.

"You gave him chips," Lyon said, "now we're in trouble."

Blount Bounces Perry

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Bruce Perry has been eliminated early in level 12. He was eliminated in a race with Ed Blount and he couldn't catch up.

The action started when Mike Sites opened preflop to 4,100 and Blount called from the button. Perry was in the small blind with {a-}{k-} and he shoved all in for 19,500 more. Sites folded and Blount called with {q-}{q-}.

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and that spelled the end of the day for Perry.

Jeff Chang was also recenltly eliminated. There are 17 players left in the Day 1b flight.

Action At Both Ends

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jim Keating limped from middle position and Denny Grizzle raised to 4,400. Keating verified the amount, then called.

"What are you doing?" asked Grizzle. "Set mining?"

"What are you doing?" Keating asked in reply.

"I'm trying to spike this flop," Grizzle said.

It's probably safe to say that neither spiked the flop or the turn, since the two players checked the {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} board to the river.

The river was the {q-Clubs} and Keating checked again. Grizzle bet 5,000 and Keating called.

Grizzle showed {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for a rivered pair of queens.

"I should have bet earlier," said Keating, reflecting on how the hand could have played differently.
