John Bowman

John Bowman was eliminated in 16th place after Jeff Gregg four bet to 116,500.

The action started when Bill Khourie opened to 16,500. Bowman made it 56,500 and then Gregg made it 116,500. The action folded back to Khourie who folded. Bowman asked how much the raise was and decided to call. He was leaving himself with only 41,000 behind.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Bowman put the rest of his chips in. Gregg called. Bowman had {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Gregg had {q-}{q-}. The board finished with running aces and Khourie made a motion as though he would have won the whole pot had he played the hand. He then said he folded an ace.

Gregg did win the pot and eliminated John Bowman.

No Easy Steals

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante

Two hands in a row the action has folded to the small blind and the small blind has opened with a raise.

Both times Jeremy Detamore was involved. On the first hand he three bet Josh Lowing after Lowing made it 20,000. Detamore made it 57,000 and Lowing folded.

On the next hand, Detamore was in the small blind and he opened to 20,000. This time Rick Sklenar shoved all in for 105,000 and Detamore let it go.

HPO Columbus Leaderboard Race Tightens

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Don Groves in front of the HPO Leaderboard
Don Groves in front of the HPO Leaderboard

Chris Roberts has been chasing Donald Groves on the HPO Columbus leaderboard all tournament. Groves found no luck in the main event, but he had a great week that propelled him to the top of the list.

In consecutive days, he won a PLO tournament, finished second in a No Limit tournament and cashed the Survivor tournament. He will likely win the leaderboard. The only way he won't is if Roberts wins the Main Event. However, if Roberts wins the Main he will get a seat to the $2,500 championship event at the M Resort and Spa. The same prize he would get for being at the top of the leaderboard, so if he already has a seat, Groves would win the seat for the leaderboard.
