HPO St. Louis Regional Main Event Day 1b is Today

Today is Day 1b of the HPO St. Louis Regional Main Event begins today at 11:15 am local time. Day 1a saw 74 entries and the field played down to ten players. Today's flight is expected to be bigger and the runners will be looking for a spot in Day 2 to join the likes of HPO Ambassador Chris Moneymaker (125,000) and Day 1a chipleader Bill Haner (243,500).
Last year's champion was Linda Lieder, who took home $48,440 for first, not bad for her first ever cash. She busted relatively early in the day yesterday, but may return for one more chance to defend her title today. Kyle Cartwright, who finished second last year, was also in the field yesterday. He was eliminated in the middle of Day 1a, after he doubled up HPO Lawrenceburg first-place finisher Josh Lowing. Neither made it through to Day 2.
Players will play 14 50-minute levels with a one-hour dinner break after level 8. Registration will stay open until the start of level 9.
