HPO Toledo in Full Swing
Welcome to coverage of Day 1b of the Hollywood Poker Open Toledo Main Event. Today's flight starts at 11:15 am local time. Players will be looking to join the 14 players from Day 1a who booked their spot in Day 2. This is the second event of the HPO, which is now in its fourth season. HPO Ambassador Chris Moneymaker was one of those players. After a slow start, he won a massive pot when he turned a full house and his opponent shoved all in against him. He worked that stack up to over 200,000 and finally finished fifth in chips with 189,500.
Lance Howard has set the mark, ending Day 1a with 288,000 chips. Howard won the biggest pot of the day when he turned a flush and got maximum value after shoving 80,000 on the river.
There will be 14 levels of play today, and each level is 50 minutes. There will be a one-hour dinner break following level 8. Players may enter or reenter until the start of level 9.
