With the final board reading 
by the river, Mike Summers checked over to Michaelann Moser, who snap-fired a bet of 9,000 into the middle.
The pot was already chock full of orange T1,000 chips — along with medley of lower denominations — and obviously a few bets had been made and called before the river was revealed.
“Isn’t that just the sickest river card?” asked Summers to nobody in particular. “Would you have folded on the turn if I shoved?”
“What’s that?” replied Moser, almost as quickly as she bet the river. “On the turn? Yeah, I think so.”
“I call then,” said Summers with authority, appearing to have obtained the tell he was looking for.
“Call?” asked Moser. “OK... quads.”
After Moser rolled over her 
, even Summers had to smile at the sight of her monster holding.
“Nice hand,” he said forlornly while flashing his 
to the table. “I guess that was the sickest turn card instead.”

After a player opened for 2,500 in early position and another flatted from middle position, Timothy Little decided to pump it up with a three-bet to 7,500 from the hijack seat.
The original raiser came along for the ride and the caller got out of the way, leaving Little and a lone opponent to take the 
flop.
After a check to him, Little continuation bet for 11,500 and watched as his opponent dove deep into the tank. As the man held his hands to his face and pondered his options, the seconds melted away into minutes.
“Did I run into kings here, Tim?” asked the man from across the table before apologizing for taking so long. “Sorry guys.”
After more than five minutes had passed, another player at the table opted to call the clock, and with the one-minute countdown underway the tanker tossed his hand into the muck. Little slid his cards to the dealer and traded them for a sizable pot, giving himself a bit of breathing room late on this first day of play.

After one player limped in for 1,000, and another raised it up to 3,000, we watched as Lee Childs hesitated a beat before plunking a tower of orange T1,000 chips into the middle for the three-bet.
The table quickly folded around to the original raiser, and with an experienced pro who has earned more than $1 million in his live tournament career staring him down, he wasted no time in signalling his surrender.
"Strong..." said Mike Summers, a friend of Childs who currently holds the chip lead. "I taught him that move."

We just passed by a huge stack of chips neatly arranged into a castle formed with 10-chip towers.
After a quick scan of the situation, the nearly 140,000-chip pile turned out to be the property of Mike Summers, who has catapulted to the top of the leaderboard late on this first day of play.
"That's my student right there..." said Lee Childs, the experienced touring pro who specializes in tournament tutorials on the side.
With such a massive stack at his disposal, Summers has proven to be an apt student indeed.
