How You Like Dehm Apples

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

With a flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Joseph Couden led out from the small blind for 15,000 and was quickly called by his lone opponent, Scott Dehm.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Couden bet 35,000 this time and was snap-called by Dehm.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Couden made a wager of 50,000. Dehm quickly said "I call" and Couden said "trips" without turning over his hand. Dehm responded "straight" and turned over {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. A disgusted Couden tossed his cards towards the dealer, never showing his actual hand.

Collins Takes Some From Adams

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

It was folded to Jimmie Adams on the button who raised it to 12,000. Christopher Collins called from the big blind and the dealer put out a flop of {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Collins check-called a 25,000 bet from Adams.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Collins again check-called an Adams bet, this time for 50,000.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Collins checked a third time. Adams decided to slow down and checked as well, turning over {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Collins had flopped trips and rivered a full house with his {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and he took down the pot.

Couden Gets There

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Scott Dehm opened the action under the gun to 12,500. Joey Couden called from middle position as did Trevor Renner from the big blind.

The flop came {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Renner and Dehm both checked. Couden bet 10,500 and was called by Renner. Dehm folded.

The turn was the {K-Clubs} and Renner checked to Couden who bet 18,500 this time. Renner called again.

The river was the {7-Clubs} and Renner checked a third time and Couden bet a third time, this time a much larger bet of 80,000. Renner muttered to himself while counting out a call. Couden sat across the table, his right hand perched calmly on his cards, while his left hand rested on his right arm. He looked intently at Renner.

Renner made the call and Couden proudly turned over his hand, {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for runner-runner nut flush.

"Wow," said Renner, shaking his head, as he slid his cards into the muck.

Adams Continues to Accumulate

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The flop came {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Trevor Renner led out for 15,000. Jimmie Adams made it 30,000 to go and Renner called.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and both players quickly checked.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Renner checked again. This time Adams made a bet of 50,000. Renner didn't think long before making the call and Adams turned over {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a full house, twos full of sevens. Renner mucked his hand, telling Adams he had a big Ace.

Adams Hits Flush to Win Big Pot

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Jimmie Adams check-called an 80,000 bet from Christopher Collins on a {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board and the two players would watch as the dealer turned over the {7-Hearts}. Adams quickly checked and Collins looked as if he was about to move all in but he hesitated long enough to pull his chips back. After thinking things through, he checked behind and it was a good thing as Adams had {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for the Ace-high flush. Collins could merely shake his head in frustration as he turned over {K-}{K-}.

Steve Birtcher Staying Alive

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Down to one big blind at one point, Steve Birtcher has won back to back hands to move his stack up to 85,000, which is over 20 big blinds. "It's going to be a Cinderella story," Birtcher joked after his most recent double up when his {A-}{Q-} flopped top pair and held against an opponent's {Q-}{J-}.
