Moneymaker Loses Another

Level 10 : 400/800, 75 ante

Chris Moneymaker raised to 1,600 in early position, and Ryan Stevenson (hijack), Lee Childs (small blind), and Jonathan Hart (big blind) called. The quarter checked on a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and the turn was the {j-Clubs}.

Childs and Hart both checked, Moneymaker flung forward 4,000, and only Stevenson called.

The river was the {k-Spades}, Moneymaker checked, and Stevenson went into the tank. He eventually reached for chips, betting 5,400, and Moneymaker flipped out a single black T100 chip, signifying a call.

Stevenson ripped over {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} for two pair, and Moneymaker mucked.

Level 9 : 300/600, 50 ante

Chris Moneymaker opened to 1,300 in early position, Lee Childs defended his big blind, and both players checked on a flop of {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, Childs led out for 1,700, and Moneymaker called.

The river was the {k-Hearts}, Childs fired out another 3,600, and Moneymaker begrudgingly called. Childs announced that he had a pair of eights, showing {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and Moneymaker mucked.

"I'm not sure if that was a bluff or a value bet?" Moneymaker asked no one in particular.
