Schlueter's Five-Bet Wins Pot

The button player opened for 1,000 and Brady Schlueter three-bet to 3,000 from the small blind and was called by Larry McCarter from the big blind.

Action was back on the button player who four-bet to 12,000 and Schlueter five-bet to 28,000.

McCarter got out of the way and the button player hesitated, then mucked his hand as well.

There was three-way action with around 12,000 in the middle and board showing {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Dennis Phillips lead out with a 1,200 bet from the big blind and Craig Casino called from early position.

Action was on Ryan Demeter who raised to 4,000 on the button, Phillips called and Casino jammed for 6,700.

Action was back on Demeter who moved all in over the top and Phillips called for less.

A Dozen Players Become Thousandaire Winners at HPT St. Louis

This weekend’s HPT St. Louis Main Event is the culmination of a whole festival of tournaments, which actually kicked off over a week ago.

One of those tournaments was Event #5: $125 Thousandaire Maker, which drew 121 entrants and created a $12,100 prize. All the players had to do was finish in the top 12 to win $1,000, while the 13th-place finisher – which was ultimately Owen Hunn – received the leftover $100.

Among those to win $1,000 were former Jeopardy! contestant Jeff Grimes, Thomas Gillman, and John Denk, just to name a few.
