Welcome to Day 1a of HPT Black Hawk
The Heartland Poker Tour is back in full swing after five preliminary events with Wednesday marking the beginning of the $1,100 Main Event for the July edition of HPT Black Hawk. This particular stop is becoming a fixture among the poker world as an end-of-summer haven once the action in Las Vegas comes to a close.
With four starting flights, this nationally televised event is sure to see a huge field and an even bigger prize pool. Last year’s champion Ben Brown outlasted a field of 763 entries en route to a first-place prize of $159,131.
Action will begin at noon local time for all four starting flights, from Wednesday through Saturday, with the field combining for Day 2 on Sunday. Players will receive 30,000 in starting chips with blinds set to begin at 100/100 with big blind antes beginning in Level 4 (100/300). Levels will last 40 minutes each with play set to continue until the end of Level 15 (2,000/4,000/4,000) or until 13 percent of the field remains.
There will be 15-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9. Registration will remain open until the beginning of Level 10 at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time with unlimited re-entries available during that time.
