Vanstrom Empties the Clip

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Jason Vanstrom
Jason Vanstrom

Nader Wahdan limped in from under the gun and action folded to Jason Vanstrom in the hijack who raised to 2,000. All remaining players left to act folded and action was back on Wahdan who called.

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Wahdan checked. Vanstrom made a continuation-bet of 1,400 and Wahdan called. The turn came {k-Diamonds} and Wahdan checked to Vanstrom again. Vanstrom fired a second barrel of 3,100 and Wahdan made the call.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Wahdan checked. Vanstrom went all in for around 20,000 and Wahdan went into the tank for a bit before folding {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} face-up, congratulating Vanstrom on a nice hand.

Simoneau Doubles With Top Pair

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Ryan Simoneau
Ryan Simoneau

Ryan Simoneau was on the button and had a bet of 15,000 with an accompanying all-in button in front of him on a board of {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and action was back on his opponent in early position. After a few moments, he made the call.

Ryan Simoneau: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Simoneau's pair of queens was ahead of his opponent's jacks and needed to fade one of the final two jacks on the river to stay alive and double. He did just that when the dealer burned and turned the river {3-Clubs} to secure the double.

Graham Makes a Straight, Eclipses Six Figures

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ruth Graham
Ruth Graham

A player in early position opened to 1,500 and received calls from a player in middle position, the hijack, Ruth Graham on the button, and both blinds. The dealer announced six players and turned over a flop of {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Action checked to Graham and she bet 3,000. Only the original raiser called.

The turn came {10-Diamonds} and Graham saw the original raiser check to her. She bet 6,000 and he made the call. The river was {a-Diamonds} and Graham's opponent checked to her again. She fired 15,000 and was immediately called.

Graham tabled {q-Spades}{9-Hearts} for the turned straight and her opponent mucked, giving her credit for her hand.

Mader Doubles With Kings

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was around 6,000 in the pot on a flop of {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Phil Mader had just check-raised all in from middle position over a bet from a player in the hijack. The player called and hands were exposed.

Phil Mader: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Mader found himself significantly ahead and the {6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} runout put an exclamation mark on the double up, putting him back near starting stack.
