Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Joey Couden, who last summer won the 2018 World Series of Poker Event #53: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better for $244,370 and his first bracelet, raised to 7,000 from the hijack and Brady Churches called out of the small blind.

Churches proceeded to check-call a bet of 6,000 on the {3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and then action went check-check on the {3-Hearts} turn.

They repeated said action on the {6-Diamonds} turn and Churches said, "I have an ace."

"I have that beat," Couden said and tabled his {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Churches sent his hand to the muck facedown.

Robinson Take Down a Pot

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player in early position limped, Blake Robinson limped and the big blind checked to see a flop. It came {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades} and the player in early position made it 4,500. Robinson made the call and the big blind folded.

The turn came the {a-Spades} and it was checked around.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and again the pot was checked around. Robinson showed the {k-Spades}{10-Spades} giving him a pair of tens to take down the pot.

Checking It Down with Moon

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Chris Moon raised to 7,000 from middle position and the player in the hijack called. The rest of the players got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop.

Both players checked and did the same on the {2-Clubs} turn as well and the {8-Hearts} river.

Moon tabled the {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for tens and deuces. It was good as the hijack tossed his cards to the muck.

Randall Cuts Down the Maven

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Bob Randall
Bob Randall

David "The Maven" Gutfreund moved all in for his last 36,000 from early position and Bob Randall re-jammed for around 85,000 when action folded to him on the button. Both blinds folded and Gutfreund discovered the bad news.

Gutfreund: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Randall: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} was about as dry as could be for Gutfreund, though the {3-Spades} turn meant he could chop with a four on the river. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {9-Spades}.

Gutfreund missed and made a beeline for the exit.
