Denis went with his open-ended straight draw, and while he didn't get it on the turn, he did when the spiked on the river. Matakis saw his two pair go down in flames and he sent over some chips.
Ed McAfoose opened action with a 5,500 button bet and got a quick call by the small blind. The big blind player fired out a three-bet of 15,000. McAfoose paused, then shoved all-in for 39,800. Big blind player called McAfoose's all in after the small blind folded.

A scary board of gave McAfoose a sweat but the winning hand.
Jim Fondy raised to 8,000 from middle position, and action folded around to the player in the small blind, who had just won two straight hands with preflop shoves and no callers.
After shoving for a third straight hand, he finally got called, by Fondy who had a shorter stack.
The players then tabled their hands, and Fondy was ahead and needed his hand to hold.

This weekend’s $1,650 Main Event is the culmination of the Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) series here at Hollywood St. Louis. There were several prelims going back to last weekend.
One of them was Event #6: $200 NLH Bounty $50 Bounty, a tournament that drew 191 runners and created a prize pool of $15,860. Among those to get paid but fall short of the final table were Terry Studlreher (11th - $462), Mary Sturges (14th - $399), David Simon (18th - $315), and Oliver Rivers (23rd - $273).
In the end, Event #1 champ Craig Welko, who won $37,402 for that victory, captured his second title for an additional $5,150.
In the first hand Craig Casino limped from under the gun and it folded around to the big blind, who checked his option.
After the players checked to the river on a board reading and the big blind checked again, Casino put out a bet of 5,000, which was called by the big blind.
The players tabled their hands, which resulted in a chopped pot.
Casino:
Big Blind:
In the very next hand action folded to the hijack, and he raised to 5,500, getting calls from Ed McPike on the button and Casino from his big blind.
All three players checked to the river on a board reading .
Casino then bet out 11,000, which got a fold from the hijack.
McPike then asked to see Casino's stack and opted to just call.
Casino then mucked his cards after McPike tabled for the king-high flush.
We missed the elimination of Craig Casino but Jason Mangold, the man who eliminated him, told us a few details after the fact.
According to him, Casino held on a king high flop and got his chips in the middle. Mangold, who had , called him and promptly spiked an ace on the turn.
Mangold claimed the pot and sent Casino out of flight 1a.
