Ebanks Takes Pot From Friedman

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Action opened with Joey Zahn raising to 700 from under the gun. The player to his left called, as did Adam Friedman from the button. Joe Ebanks three-bet from the big blind to 3200 and action folded around to Friedman, who called. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and Ebanks bet to take down the pot after a fold from Friedman.

Zahn Sent To the Rail

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Joey Zahn opened the cutoff to 700 and was called by Keith Schwartz on the button. Zahn bet out 600 on a flop of {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Schwartz raised to 2,000. Zahn called, bringing the {j-Diamonds} turn. Zahn checked to Schwartz, who bet 2,400. Zahn instantly announced all in and Schwartz called just as quickly.

Joey Zahn: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}
Keith Schwartz: {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Zahn needed a spade to improve to a flush, and asked the dealer to help him get there. The {5-Clubs} was no help, and he was sent to the rail, announcing that it was only for a moment as he would be rebuying.

Nolen's Ladies Good

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante
Bob Nolen
Bob Nolen

On a board of {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} with around 6,600 in the pot on the turn, Bob Nolen bet 2,200 from the small blind into Joe Ebanks, who was on the button. Ebanks took a few seconds and flung in two orange chips, valued at 1,000 each. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Nolen checked. After some deliberation, Ebanks decided to check behind and showed {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the missed nut flush draw. Much to Nolen's delight, he flipped over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and his set held, good to rake in the pot.

Rubinberg Wins Blind-Versus-Blind Battle Before Break

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante
Andy Rubinberg
Andy Rubinberg

In the last hand of the third level with 5,500 in the pot, Andy Rubinberg was heads up in the small blind against the player in the big blind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Rubinberg bet 2,500. His opponent called, bringing the {2-Diamonds} turn. Rubinberg checked, and his opponent bet 4,200. Rubinberg called, and the river came a {2-Spades}, bringing three of a kind to the board. Rubinberg shoved for around a pot sized bet, and his opponent instantly mucked his {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} face up, exclaiming that it was the worst possible river he could have seen.

The two talked about the hand for another few seconds, and Rubinberg revealed that the river actually helped his opponent. He told him he had {q-}{q-} and had turned the full house.

No Chop This Time

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Action was folded to Bill Reilly in the small blind. Keith Schwartz instantly told him a chop was good if he wanted it, to which Reilly put in a raise to 800. The flop came {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Reilly checked. Schwartz bet 1,000 and Reilly called. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Reilly again checked to Schwartz, who fired 3,300. Reilly check-raised to 9,000 and Cowell made the call. On the {6-Spades} river, Reilly bet 11,000 and Schwartz made the call, saying he had to see what his opponent had.

Reilly turned over the {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for the nut straight and took down the pot, saying that maybe next time they would chop.

Ashman Sends One Home

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

There was a pot that saw four players each put 2,000 into the pot preflop. On a {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, the small blind checked and the big blind bet 2,400. Ryan Ashman called from middle position, as did a player on the button. After the small blind folded, the three remaining players saw the {3-Spades} turn. Action checked to the player on the button, who bet 5,500. Both the small blind and Ashman made the calls, taking three-way action to {10-Spades} river. Again, action checked to the player on the button who shoved all in for 19,000 exactly. After getting a count, the small blind thought for a second and folded. Ashman quickly called.

The player on the button tabled {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for nine high, while Ashman showed {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and his set was good for the pot and the knockout.
